I would say that the weakest performing aspect of the Z is the weight,

strip the inside
no speakers
no AC
nothing in the back (spare, tools, mats)
take out passenger seat

you might be able to knock off 300-400 lbs and make the Z really come alive

Buy a Base-model Z. It has the best torque/weight ratio.

You could take out the AC and it would still look normal and that would cut a lot of weight, .

 

Take out the entire stereo system if you don't mind humming for your listening pleasure.

You can literally shave off weight. Scrap all the sound deadening material, that should be at least 25 lbs. The Base model does not come with any, if you have one.

It's true, though. People are trying to shave off 10 lbs here, 15 lbs there, etc, etc. But how heavy is the DRIVER?

I weigh 142 lbs. I always wonder how much weight advantage/disadvantage I have over other drivers in comparable vehicles.

While I do think the Z should be lighter how come the Z is called heavy and for example the Vette is light. The Track Z weighs 3225 and the Vette weighs 3147(as per manufactures specs). A difference of 78 pounds.

 

get rid of those stupid outside things nissan calls a body kit. who needs a body kit? just drive around without the body kit.why is there 2 seats? take 1 out. infact take both out and replace the driver side seat with a plastic $2.99 lawn chair from walmart.

also, who thought of putting windows on the Z? why the hell do we need windows? its a sportscar! windows add like 10 pounds. take out all the windows and replace it with that plastic wrap you use to wrap sandwiches.


get rid of the radio, the air conditioning, the dash plastic parts.the door panels, cup holders, antenna, the tires/rims. get 14" wheels, they weigh less.

get rid of that stupid trunk hatch. who needs a body kit?

okay so you'll basically drive around in a 350z that is totally unrecognizatable since it doesn't have the outside body kit, no hood, 14" wheels, but the bright side is your car will weigh less than 2500 pounds and you'll be doing 12's!!!!! all damn day!!!!! yes!!!!


oh and you gotta lose 50 pounds and only have a 1/4 tank of gas. and drain the water from the window washer, you don't have windows so why do you need window washing fluid? smart guy.!
