Quick translation from this thread:

High security lock

(Key cylinder + private key)
- For sedan/for coupe
Each ¥31,290(installation expense consumption including tax) (consumption including tax itself price ¥28,035)

5XM90/6XM90
1. Prevention of illegality unlocking of the door with picking.
2. With the floating ball structure of the key point prevention of door key duplication.

Unless there is presentation of the security card with owner himself we do not receive the duplication of the key. When the being agreeable key is necessary, the security card presentation tide seeking at the NISSAN dealership which you requested.

Key set contents:
A. 2 keys B. Security card
C. Key cylinder D. Cap keyhole

Adaptation car: Sedan all car/coupe all car

So are the knife looking things the key? That would be pretty cool. At the least, the dealership should at least make a key with a chip inside specifically for the Z that you can purchase later.

Yup, the stock Z key sucks, Nissan should really make a Nismo-like key for the Z with transponder inside... Maybe aftermarket-only (not with purchase of a Z) but it still should be available, because the stock one is just plain fugly and cheap lookin...

With the plain transponder keys already costing $100+ I would think a special key just for Z's would be even more expensive. How many of you would want to pay $200 for a key?.....

My Maxima has the same key and remote. I got both on eBay for about $30 bucks. Nissan programed it for me no charge. I am surprised that some aftermarket stuff has not come out for this issue.

I remember the older 300Z titanium keys...very cool... But honestly, if I had the option I probably wouldn't spend extra cash on a key... I don't ever pay attention to my key unless I loose it...as long as it turns the car on I'm good with the one I have...
