Default Nissan Consumer Affairs Has Officially Pissed Me Off

As some of you may know and some of you may not, I have been waiting and attempting since August to get reimbursed for my out of pocket expense when I got my front tires replaced. So after faxing all my info to Nissan 5 times I called 2 weeks ago to find out it was denied. Reason being "I didnt submit proof of payment" BULLCRAP!!!! is what I said, I told them who I spoke with and how I got confirmation that all info was recieved, readable, and everyting they needed was intact. So 2 weeks ago they said they would re-review it and call me back. To this day I never recieved a call. I got ahold of a rep that transfered me another agent that is working my case. Now this guy I have to give props to. He was cool and totally understood my situation. I was telling them I dont mean to profile anyone that works at Nissan but everytime I would call on case I would get ahole of some Middle eastern that couldnt speak english and how there communication skills sucked. He actually agreed with me smile.gif ... anyways he told me that if I would like I could send all the info to him and he would go ahead and take care of it that day. Everything was going great until this was said. Now keep in mind I have been going through this since August and this was the first time this was ever communicated to me 3 months later. He tells me they will only reimburse you if you purchased front tires that are the exact OEM size of 225/50/17 ... I was like woah woah, say what now... he said they are getting very picky on what size tires people are replacing with so they are only reimbursing people that bought 225/50/17 tires. I told well then we have a problem. I bought 235/45/17 which diameter wise is the exact same freaking size. He told me then most likely they wont give me my money for the tires. WTF!!!!!!!!! I was madder than a hornets nest. So when I got home I printed every letter nissan sent out in regards to the Reimbursemtn and know where is it ever stated or implied that the tires have to be exact OEM size. So I am getting all my stuff together, calling Consumer Affairs back tomorrow and I am going to give them the what for if they dont take my stuff...

Do any of you have any suggestions as to what I could do? I am just so fed up with this crap yall. I am not a quiter by anymeans but I am just ready to give up and be like fine dont pay me back my $280.... I am sorry but I just had to vent. This really just pissed me off big time.

iirc, the tsb i rec'd said they would replace/reimburse only stock size tires. you need to read the actual tsb to see if you have a defense.

It always helps to take your greviances to the higher ups. You should write a few letters to the executives at NNA. Here is a link to Nissan's own company profile of their executives. I guarantee that if you write a good, professional letter and send them to these individuals then someone from Nissan's consumer affairs dept will respond to you. (Usually someone that deals solely with escalated cases) Or better you could call or write to Nissan in Japan directly. The home offices always freeks out when Americans call Japan to b1tch about how NNA is mistreating customers. The Japanese staff go ape-**** and then start chewing out the higher ups here in the U.S., next thing you know someone from corporate in Gardena ends up calling you and apologizing etc. It works, I have done it many times with Nissan, Lexus and Honda. As helps if you speak Japanese or have a friend who does to really explain in detail how NNA is screwing you over. Good Luck.

+1. We have another “Did you get a tire refund” thread but…

I’m familiar with the latest free alignment - free tires offer from Nissan. The document clearly states “EOM tires must be replaced with a duplicate size.” Good luck.

I complained as well. They said a specialist will call me back the next day amd my tire concerns would be taken care of.The jackass on the phone wasted an hour of my time taking information Basically I asked them if they can refund me if i put replacement tires if Nissan is unable to provide them in timely manner. 2 weeks later no one has called yet!

UPDATE!!!!!!!! I just called Nissan and I am getting my reimbursment check .. It was mailed out yesterday. WOO HOO.... Now I will be paying 2 bills off this month .... I can see the light.

P.S. Come to find out I have been sending Nissan the freaking wrong invoice. I have been sending the the one for the rear tires which are 235. So I sent them one for 225 and finally got it approved. LOL..... I guess it was my fault all along. I also apologized to the guy for sending the wrong size.

Sort of sucks when you go nuts and in the end it was you who screwed up, lol. But it's good they are taking care of you. I know it's been slow, but Nissan seems to be making up for some things.

Heh, it happens to the best of us. Many years ago, I was having trouble with my dealer's service department getting my car fixed right. I went to another dealer who fixed it right on the first try. Several days later, the "good" dealer called to follow-up... all I heard was "Nissan" and proceeded to give the guy an earful (thinking he was the "bad" dealer). Needless to say, he was a little shocked that I was so unhappy. Luckily, after a couple of minutes, it dawned on me that this was the "good" dealer guy, so I apologized profusely and we had a good laugh about it.

Nissan “misplaced” my initial request for reimbursement, and I mailed it to them again. I included invoices, but was asked to show “proof of payment.” So I mailed Nissan my VISA statements showing the charges.

Sure it sucks to find out you sent them the wrong info, but it sure would have been nice if they called you back as promised and requested you send them the proper info.
