z vs. srt6
I think bumble z understands stock for stock the str6 is faster. I think what his point might be is that with a supercharger or turbo setup on both platforms with the same boost levels the z would be faster. If that's what he is saying the z most likely would be faster because the z has a bigger displacement engine. The z really does come alive when turbo'd or charged. Anyhow im not sure that is his point or not but im just trying to read inbetween the lines...lol. The z is a very torque engine even in Na form and when boosted they do very well.
well I don't think there is any argument to be had any longer. We have established that a Z can reach stock '6 speeds with exhaust, intake and tuning. I can totally believe that.
The only issue I would like to pursue is this notion you brought up of the car being bad in the corners. Once again I'd direct you here:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?article_id=1985
In which the '6 outperforms a Nismo s-tune 3650z around willow springs.
There really is the perception that these cars are just a crossfire with a big engine-absolutely not. Different tranny, exhaust, brakes, suspension, pretty much everything-all AMG gear, of course. The suspension and steering settings tweaked by SRT who, lets's not forget, had the fastest production car around the Nurburgring for a couple of months this year. They know what they're doing.

They can, depending on how they make their points, if wolfman sticks around and contributes to other threads then his points would be taken with more respect. We actually have plenty of sti, evo owners who used to own z's who still contribute and other people with other cars who still contribute. Wolfman, joined for only one reason and that is to talk up his car (though he isn't trolling by any means) and that's it, he's not more passionate than enthusiast. Stick around wolfman.
I've been exceptionally courteous, actually.
I joined to get the facts out there, did that, and now am just dealing with points as they're raised.
As an auto ENTHUSIAST (I own 3 cars, none of them boring) I am always interested in having others correct me when I'm wrong, and present the facts when I am ignorant of them.
I make the assumption that others are the same way, hence starting threads like this one.

Thank you Jet.
I'm not a spoiled brat, just because my mom pays for my car.
I've worked part time through high school and college for 4 years. I've taken off of work since 2003 and I'm right now I'm going to graduate school on loans. I'm 23.
I hate people who are real spoiled brats just as much as you do...
Just don't confuse me with one of them.

i can see what you're trying to do... I would seriously consider posting your car in the "other vehicles" section if you want more feedback.
You're point got across... SRT6 is no slouch, and i see u got the same understanding about Z's, N/A or F/I.
otherwise, if you keep it in this thread you are in danger of looking like this kid:

I didn't ignore your post. I was taking notice of the fact that your here in the first place, with your "motivations". I mean really, are you concerned that 350z owners are all running around thinking they are faster than your srt? Why were you digging around so deep in the Z forums to bump the thread? At first I thought ok, this guy is just getting the record straight, whatever. By the end, I caught the full on srt nut-hugger vibe. If you can admit the Z looks better, I may take back my nut-hugger comment.
Actually, dig all you want-you won't find a single criticism of the Z in any of my posts. That's not how I conduct myself.
I don't come onto a forum to tell people that the car around which their community is based is bad-that's probably how I've avoided a flame-storm.
I will say what I said a few posts ago. "I dig the 350z as a performance car bargain".
No, since you ASK I don't particularly like the look of the 350-not as nice as older ones, but at least nicer than the 370, in my opinion.
I think they look ok.
Obviously I like the look of the SRT more, or it stands to reason that I wouldn't have bought one. I understand the XF is a very polarizing car in the looks department, though in my experience the SRT seems to garner more compliments due to the cosmetic alterations. Quite rare for me to go a week without a couple of random stranger compliments, but my experience may not be broadly representative.
I have been very even handed, and extremely un-fanboy-ish. I challenge you to establish otherwise, Whitenoiz.
The closest you will come is when I pointed out that at point of sale the two cars are in different performance classes-which they are-which is to be expected given the different price brackets.
I have also pointed out that the Z pulls a higher G figure on the skidpan.
Jesus I can't stand people who use straw man arguments.
