Default Are the TPS sensors on board accurate?

It's about 50 degrees out now and it says that my front's are 35psi and rears are 33psi. What do they need to be at?

They are very accurate from my experience. It takes them a few seconds to get a reading but they are generally very accurate.

IIRC correctly this was discussed about 1 year ago (just guessing) and the consensus was that they were. I have checked mine a few times and they matched the handheld gauge. Try running a search and see if you can find the thread.

Mine match my electronic guage exactly as well. Hey a lil question regarding the sensors.... Is there a battery in each one to transmit that has to be replaced after a year or so?

I believe that they're powered by the kinetic energy of the spinning wheel, and that's why you get no reading until you've been rolling for a few seconds.

TPS have a problem with accuracy at high-altitude. Here in Denver, my experience with two different sets are that both sets read 2-3 pounds LOW per tire. My Nissan sources say this happens across the board on all TPS equipped models (Maximas, Titans, etc.)- all due to the decrease in air pressure at our altitude. So far, there is no fix for this and the TPS monitor cannot be reprogrammed...

According to the manufacturers spec, they are accurate to ±2% which at 35psi is about ±0.7 psi.

Gee, did you ever think that maybe it's going off for a reason, like maybe the pressure is too low. After all, that's what it's designed to do.

If it's going off, then the pressure is 28 psi or less, since the recommended pressure is 35, that's pretty low don't you think?
