My dealership said that there wasn't an actual fix for it, that it was in how the car was alligned? Something to do witht hte toe/tow(?). They gave me the Oct 31 bs as well.

FWI...I just received a check from Nissan for the cost of replacing my front tires. I put Michlins on about a month or so ago to replace the crappy oem tires. I followed all the guidelines in the letter from Nissan and sent in all my invoices. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. I'm also the second owner of this car and the tires were replaced once before under warranty.

Well I preordered an 03 Z so as you probably can guess, I am way out of the warranty period. I received my first (and only) letter from Nissan about the front alignment in ~July 2004 and I immediately took it in and had the front tires swapped on to the opposite wheel. I only became aware of the second TSB this week after browsing this site so I took the car back the dealer who said my tires had worn enough to get the replacements but the warranty extension ended Oct 31 so they couldnt help me. I called Nissan today and after spending an hour with them I was basically told I was **** out of luck. Has anyone had any luck getting the tires replaced after the warranty extension expired? I just want to get the new tires on this POS and let someone else deal with buying new tires every 7000 miles.

Bottom line, Nissan would of extended your watery for 3 years 36,000 miles if came in by October 31, 2005. I went to the dealer October 31, 2005 with the issue, very slight feathering. The Nissan advisor just took my information down did not even look at my Z and ordered 2 new tires. I just received a call this week from the dealer saying the tires were and in and made an appoitment.
I would be pissed-off also! Good luck!
