Shift around 3k 3.5k and you will get the most of out your gas, I usually get 380-400 miles on one Full Tank. (driving 50% of the time city and 50% highway combined)

the Z is more like my girl friend...she likes to be driven hard, the harder the better. She prefers to be engaged at a much higher rpm.....going in just half an inch(not shifting above 5000rpm) would just tease her to death.....she begs for more rpm....i went all the way and hit the home run(red line).
BTW...my stick shift goes through all six gears like a hot knife through butter...

i often wonder if this engine can rev to 8 grand, doesnt it seem to want to rev mor then the limiter

Worried about mpg... Hmmm, Car off, neutral, just flinstone it and push from behind. You'll never have to refill again ever
