I have a creaking sound but I was thinking it was coming from the seat or console. It could be the sterring column. I will listen closer.

It happens in most often during right hand turns.

YES! And it's annoying as hell! Mine is more of a buzz though...sounds like it is coming from the steering column or base of the windshield... What year is your car?

If it drives you crazy, pull the lower dash panel off the drivers side. Spray the steering column with WD40.

I squeak until the interior warms up. Then no more squeaks.

I have a squeaking noise coming from the steering column and it'd driving me nuts! I had it through the summer too, so not just a cold weather problem. I was too lazy to take care of it when it was warm, so I'll prob have to wait till spring to get a look at it and get it fixed.

To me it sounds like two pieces of plastic tapping each other rapidly..

If you (or anyone else) is having the same problem, I believe I found it. Reach behind the dash. There should be a circular piece of plastic back there in the middle, lining up with the Tach in the front. I found this to be loose, and the tapping stopped when I pushed it tightly back into the dash. It comes loose in about a second, so I'll have to get it checked out.

Hope this helps.

yeah...more of a rattle at steering column and the instrument panel area. Took it back to dealer last month and they got that fixed good. No big deal. Make sure you ask for a mechanic who's good at rattles and squeaks though, otherwise it would do you any good....been there done that.

Well creaking is very different from rattles and taps...

I had a creaking sound eminating from under the dash when I would turn left sometimes. I then realized it was actually my seat creaking when my weight shifted to make the turn. I'm not a fatass either.

Try pushing on your seat cushion in a few directions to see if you can reproduce it...that's what confirmed it for me. I'm dreading the dealership trip, but I got to make it for this, a bad rattle and a tire rotation.
