Default Key Fob died!

Purchased the car May 2004 and my key fob died lastnight. Called local dealership and they said no problem they will look at it.

Anyone else have a similar probelm? I took it apart and couldn't pry the old battery put to replace it...didn't want to do any damage. Getting oil changed tomorrow anyway so no biggie.

Thnx

probably just the battery. My gf's died a few weeks ago as well and she thought for sure that it was a problem with the car.

I got mine in Aug 03. Fob's range is somewhat getting weaker. I have to be near to open the car. Did the dealership change the battery?

My dealership, where I bought my car has a thing where they replace any batteries in the Key Fob as long as you bought the vehicle there. This is a lifetime warrenty and something I think they do for good customer service.

I see we've been havin a field day with that "panic" button???

Dealer should be able to change it with no problem.
You probably stored it in your pocket or bag one day and it was pressed up against something else, causing it to send out of range signals till it's battery died prematurely.

I thought mine was dead the other day, it wasn't. The trunk was cracked open a little bit.
