Long drive seat comfort in touring....
Went on the longest drive to date in my Z yesterday. Drove from Los Angeles, up to Solvang, CA along the coastal 101 FWY and back. Totaling about 5 hours in the car. After about 4 hours I started feeling the side of my thighs getting pinched and got pretty uncomforatble. I have a touring and have leather power seats. The point where it bothers me most is on my right thigh at the corner of the power seat controls. Now I am fairly stocky with thich thighs at 6' and 235 lbs. I kept fiddling with my seat positions and the manual **** for high control. But I just could not find a more comfortable position.
So far I have found the best position is sitting up fairly straight, butt all the way back and keeping my knees together as close to center as possible. But the right side of my thigh still go numb after a while. Anyone else had this problem and or found a way around this?

I've done four (8) hour freeway jaunts, and the seats couldn't be better.
It's good to put cruise on and alternate between extending your legs and bringing them up every 30 minutes or so.
I find that the cradles on the seat are good, but the wings on the back support are somewhat tight for me. I've got a wide back. (5'10", 185)

I drove my car 4.5 hours right off the dealer's lot. I'm 6'1", 185lbs. The seats did feel tight at the controls on the side, as well as they seemed to have pressure points right on my hips.
I've worked on the seats a bit to bend them out (putting my weight slowly on my hand at the edge of the seat right where it feels tight) and it might have made it slightly wider and more comfortable. I'm not recommending that, and I'm not even sure if that is what made the seat feel better, or if it is just breaking in better.

I've also felt the pressure on my right thigh after 4-5 hour drives. If possible I'll use the cruise and move my legs around. It helps but once you get out you can still feel were it was pushing. In general though the seats are great. I sit very upright too.
I made a comment about this several months ago. I'm 6' tall and weigh in at 180 lbs. After a long drive, I noticed there was not enough support under my legs. I had owned several "Z" cars over the past 29 years and all had the seats replaced with Recaro's. The drivers seat always had the pull out leg bolster to give that much needed support. It was fantastic.. I drove my 1974 260Z from New York to San Franscisco in less than 3 days.. Never felt tired or felt any dis-comfort at all.. I am considering replacing the seats with Recaro's but.. I have heated seats and side curtain air bags.. Would be a shame to loose these 2 important ioptions.. Maybe nissan will come out with a new drivers seat for longer legged drivers..

I thought tilting the front of the seat up would help with long term comfort, but actually the reverse seems to be true for me. Someone mentioned that tilting the front down eliminated the seat making that small shift to the left when making a hard right turn. The seat is more comfortable now with it adjusted down.
I have noticed the same problem on long drives. But, I believe my problem is that the clutch pedal is too far away in contrast to the brake and gas. I feel must confortable with my right leg more straight rather than cocked to the right with my knee slightly bent. But, if I put the seat far enough back so that my right leg is comfortable, then I can't push the clutch in easily. I have a ticket into my local dealer to see if it's possible to adjust the clutch pedal back towards the driver some. I believe that will solve my issue.

Anyone in the group sat in a G35C's seats for prolong periods of time? One thought I had is to switch out the 350Z's seats for G35C seats. That way you will still have seat warmers and side airbags, not to mention some additional controls: Tilt & height. Any thoughts?
