Need some Help in releasing the shift knob !

Thumbs down Need some Help in releasing the shift **** !

Hello, i had posted this thread last time and i got some reply, so i tried to release the original shift ****, but i failed because i didn't see any trigger or screw underneath the plastic cover. Can someone please help me out ?

Use a towel and some Vise grips...
Vise on shifter....another clamp on the **** but wrapped with a towel so it won't ruin your stock ****.

Make sure both ends are stable so you don't twist the actual shifter too much. Vise grip the shifter shaft with the boot lifted off so you don't actually ruin the boot.

**** should pop off once that thread seal breaks.

Trust me, it won't feel like it will go, but once it gives away you're home free.

I used a soft terry towel and cresent wrench adjusted tightly. It won't dig into the leather. Done this 5-10 times. Shift **** still looks like new and I have had to crank on it a few times. Those ***** are on there tight. When they let go with the factory locktite ....man. This requires some good even pressure to twist them off.
