Sell the Z and Buy a NSX?

My Z is a 2003 Track model with 27000 miles, which should fetch around 23k according to Edmunds.com (god, resale value sure didn't hold up very well on this car). That means I'll only have to invest 7k to get the NSX.
Should I make the plunge? What's holding me back is the fact that the NSX is almost 10 years old. But it's an incredible car, and if you think about it, at one time it was a 90K supercar. It's quite a bargain if you think about it. The Z is a great car, but it's dime a dozen around where I live.
Any advice?

If I could afford to have a second project car it wouldn't be an NSX and it wouldn't be practical...
It would be one of these...

Anytime I am considering a car I like to read owner reviews. Before I purchased my Z I considered an NSX. Decided against it though for a variety of reasons. I will say, though, that the car is amazing.
Read some of the reviews and see if it assists you in your decision making.
Remember the warranty situation.
Good luck.

I happen to own both cars at the same time right now.
1995 NSX and 2003 Z.
I'm indeed very lucky and I smile every day.
I love both cars - the Z is for commuting to work 50 mikes round trip every day (40K miles) the and NSX is my week end toy (95K miles).
The bottom line - get an NSX. You will never regret it.
Good luck my friend.

I got to race one the other night, it ran good. we took off at 70 I stayed right with him untill a little over 100 then he started pulling, my mods are JWT popcharger, crawford pleneum, IMS test pipes. He said it had intake cams and a full exhaust. but it idled pretty smooth so i'm not real sure
The NSX is a pseudo exotic. Very limited in numbers, mid engined, unique styling, proven performance with Acura reliability. I would stay away from the "Automatic" version which only had 252 horses and castrated the car so to speak(And did away with the intense 8200 redline). Get the 3.2 version with 290 horses and the smoth 6-speed. Also comptech makes a smog legal supercharger if you need a testosterone boost.

Hi Guys,
I don't post much but have also had the pleasure of owning both. I sold my 91 NSX for an 03 350Z, now have a new 05 Z. I owned the NSX for 4 years, put 30K+ miles on it and had everything from a 70 shot NOS kit to different wheels, tires...yada..yada. I also road raced the car over 30 times. Never had one problem other than the door handle falling off, no big deal-fixed it myself.
Having been lucky enough to be on the 350Z development team at Nissan, I can tell you they are both great cars. As we all know, there are so many ways to compare cars, so most is subjective, although some of the dynamic stuff I will comment on is factual.
Design:
Completely subjective, I like both. The NSX does look a little dated but is much sleeker than the Z. Especially when lowered with 285's in the back. The early cars looked better with the black tops. Mine had a black top with black wheels and could walk a stock viper on the bottle. Having said that, the Z with big meats and dropped appropriately looks much more tuf than an NSX. The Z has muscles like a 911/930, the NSX does not. As for the quality, no comparison, the NSX has one of the best interiors in the business. Great materials and great interior design. The Z interior is marginal, at best. Well, the 06's are better.
Handling:
Nod goes to the Z. That's right the Z. At speeds less than 100 MPH the Z is MUCH more fun, you can slide the tail out all day long with throttle oversteer where-as the NSX lacked the torque to do this. The later 3.2L's were better with the 6-speed, but not nearly as fun as a 350Z. I can honestly say my 350Z with NISMO 9.5"'s all around and 265/295's is the most fun car I have ever driven. The Z is more predictable and more neutral than any model year NSX. The NSX's ultimate handling limit is higher than the Z, but few if anyone will get that level..even at the race track. The NSX can and will bite you, the Z is more forgiving and thus more fun and easier to drive. Lap times at comparable tracks are virtually identical.
Power:
Very similar. I raced my NSX off the bottle against an early prototype 350Z and they were dead even. The 3.2's are a bit faster, but no faster than a Z with 260+ rwhp. NSX's and Z make almost the same wheel HP in stock form but the Z has more TQ to the wheels and they weigh roughly the same..give or take 100 lbs.
Chassis:
As some have already mentioned the NSX is an old car. The chassis technology of the Z is considerably superior to the NSX, in fact the NSX flexes quite a bit due to the AL chassis. The Z is stiffer and much more robust in it's construction, hence it weighs slightly more. Remember the NSX was developed in the 80's..it is indeed an old car, but it is now one of the few all AL cars.
One very bad thing about the NSX is that it's extremely hard and expensive to make big power. If you want a 500 HP tire smoker, the NSX is not for you. The mid-engine layout makes things quite difficult-that's why I went to the bottle.
I would love to have both, but will most likely wait for the GTR rather than going back to an NSX.
I hope this provides some good insight.
