Default Sell the Z and Buy a NSX?

Sorry for another one of these threads, but I have an opportunity to pick up a 1997 NSX for 30k. The car is in pretty good condition with only 47000 miles. Now, since I can't afford to have two 2 seaters, if I get this car, I'll have to get rid of the Z (or my wife will kill me). My Z is a 2003 Track model with 27000 miles, which should fetch around 23k according to Edmunds.com (god, resale value sure didn't hold up very well on this car). That means I'll only have to invest 7k to get the NSX.

Should I make the plunge? What's holding me back is the fact that the NSX is almost 10 years old. But it's an incredible car, and if you think about it, at one time it was a 90K supercar. It's quite a bargain if you think about it. The Z is a great car, but it's dime a dozen around where I live.

Any advice?

Never liked the looks of the NSX. Didn't like the looks of it when it was new, don't like the looks of it now. If I were going to spend 30K USD on a used car, I'd get a used 2002 Z06. They are considered "supercars" and they aren't 10 years old, and they have more HP, and they can handle the corners too.

EDIT: Just to add, when I was shopping for a sports car, there was a used corvette, but I choose the 350Z anyways. I just fell in love with the looks of the 350Z. It's my kinda taste. Stubby nose(I hate long nose cars), Love the lines, I believe the 350Z lines will still look mordern in 10 years. LOL. Can you tell I like this car?

1997 is kind of old but as long as it was well cared for and hasn't been abused I would go for it. In the end you will be making the payments so get whatever you like best. Do you have any pictures of it?

I was gonna say if its the 3.2L 6 speed get the NSX, if its the 3.0L keep the Z, but its a 97' so get the NSX. They pull HARD up-top.

NSX is very nice (my Dad has one and I've spent plenty of time behind the wheel), exotic and rare; if you like it, go for it. My Dad's is a '96, so my Z with a couple bolt-ons and Nismo suspension will outperform it, but I still love the car. In '97 they upped the power from 270 to 290, went to 6 speed and made suspension improvements, so '97 or later is deffinitely what you want. Z with suspension mods and a few bolt-ons will still be a good match performance-wise, but there's no mistaking the feel of a mid-engined sports car and the exclusivity of it is pretty sweet; you deffinitely won't see yourself coming and going.

+1, if its a 3.0L auto NSX then a big no no.
For NSX I think you can change bumper, headlights to make it look more newer.

47k miles on a car thats 10 years old? thats amazing. i think it was probably really well taken care of. just make sure everything is legit. 30k seems reasonable for an NSX with only 47k.

sure its from '97 but the styling on that car is amazing.

My Dad's '96 only has like 39k miles on it. He bought it in '01 or '02 for 50k with 33k miles. Hardly ever drives the thing (crying shame); everytime I go visit, I have to take her out and blow the cobwebs out of the engine...
