Why not buy both? In the mid-west, you can drive the 350Z nine months a year and the STI in the winter.

i got news for you, the WRX has achieved greatness in Europe before it ever came to the US shores. The WRX is a world class Rally car, and has a rich history, it might not be 35 years like the Z but it has achieved greatness on its own level..

Hmmm maybe because I'm not a 17 year old highschool street racer and I wanted a sexy *** 2 seater to cruise around in.

Like a handful of you guys, I was also contemplating getting an STi or Evo8. I am a BIG WRC fan and my old philosophy was awd w/ turbo. If only I can get my hands on a Evo IV or V, I know I won’t look back. Anyways, Evo8’s insurance premium was twice what I would pay for the Z.

Great things I love about the Z: it’s NA and since I am living on my own now, it helps to have a dependable car (read more about why). The Z33 is my third Z. My previous Z’s were 84’ 300ZX Datsun (first car, got to love the pop up headlights and the woman’s voice) and 93 300ZXTT. Both cars were great but the Z32 did give me problems, always having to change broken vac lines, oil line issues and very bad oil consumption but when it did run, it felt like a jet fighter. T-tops were fun during the summer months.

I feel like I have Z blood in me and they were the best cars I have ever driven. Always in tune with the road.

well the EVO MR doesn't even have cruise control available !!!!

id do the MR over the STi but Z is first for me, and i thoroughly test drove all!!

heh! reminds me of an article i read back when i had an rx-7 they were testing a new 3 rotor engine on the 3rd gen. rx-7

it went 207 MPH!! and actually lifted off the ground becabe airborne and flipped sideways in the air !! thats a car that needs the STi wing!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, the wing in the back provides down force for the rear end at speed, not the front. If the RX7 lifted off the ground and airborne, it's the front end that needs a wing, not the back.

your definatly right, the car (if i remember right almost 10 years ago ) the rear wing gave TOO MUCH down force at those speeds in the rear, causing the front to be slightly higher thus catching air, combined with realy light weight.

yea to prevent what happened they would have needed a front wing. if they saw that coming id guess they would have hehe

the article was from a mag called Racing beat (RX enthusiast mag)

lol I asked the same question in another forum. Check out their reponses.

Member Name-
Solarix-----------STI , my dream car thats why, horse power , design , style , quality -drools-

Gabnoj---350Z, for two very good reasons..

1) They are sexy!

2) Edie Britt Owns one (Desperate Housewives, for you silly people who don't watch it

summers--Watch the comparison between the RX-8 and the 350Z from Top Gear. They'll tell you why they'd pick the RX-8 over the 350Z anytime.

blackice912
--I'd take the STi, but I have a non-STi WRX so I'm biased.

pixels--WRX STi... The 350Z looks like a toy.

deadpoetinabox--STi

They are GREAT cars. Not many people have them. You can go drifting. They are SUBARUS!!!!!! And I've wanted one for a long time. I would definately add all the features I can to it.

I want it so bad... you don't even know.

-Britney

noroom--The 350z might be more of an eye-catcher, but I'd go for the WRX STi. It's a bigger car, room for bigger speakers, haha. It's got power. It's a serious, but sporty and elegant car. It comfortably seats four, so you can show it off to your friends from the inside! I feel it's safer than a 350z too, but I'm just going by the looks.

Find Top Gear episodes on those cars. That should really help you decide

Boxster17--I'd take the Subaru for sure. I think it looks tons better, it'd make a better car for everyday use with the 4 doors and good amount of trunk space. Not to mention it's also faster and was made for rally use.

Oh, and also as of 2006 it's spelled STI, it's no longer STi...for some reason they've capitalized the 'i' in it.

I just came from owning a Subaru, and I loved it. I had a 2001 2.5 RS for three years.

However, I was in the market for a new car, emphasis on new, and it basically came down to an STI, Evo 9, or a 350Z.

I went with the Z for a few reasons.

First: The car, as well as the insurance was cheaper.

Second: I am about to graduate college, and wanted the more professional, business like vehicle, I do like the looks of both the rally bread cars, but the Z is a way more presentable vehicle, and it is damn sexy, compared to the offbeat yet still apealing looks of the STI/Evo.

Third: I had my fun with AWD, and was ready for change.

Forth: I was sick and tired of hauling people around, now it's just me and whichever girl would like to be mine for the night!

Exactly, those two cars are totally different. And of course the majority are going to say the 350z is better, you're on a 350z forum.

I like the superficial people that believe others think better of them because of their car. Do you really need a car to boost your self esteem?

And then there's the one guy that says a FI Z will beat a STI, yeah lets compare a modded car to a stock car.

To the people that complain about the wing, it is removable. Or you can replace it with a wrx wing and I actually like the look without a wing.
