Default 03 Track vs. 05 35th...

I had a chance to drive my friend's 03 Track (stock), and let me tell you, what a difference. It seems like the car just picks up right from the beginning, and that's only the major difference. The gearbox also seems crisper while shifting gear to gear. And the clutch is way stiffer and gives you more of a sense of how the car is going to react. I was wondering if all these parts are the same or did they change them for the 04s and 05s ? The 03 just seems MUCH more raw and "driver" oriented...It would be nice to have the 03 clutch and gearbox...or maybe its the same but just tuned different...anyone know?

the 03 and 04 Z's had a much stiffer clutch than 05+, Nissan changed it because they felt the harsh clutch was part of the reason the transmissions were failing.

And about the power right from the beginning, the 35th and 06 have less torque than 03, 04 and 05, but they have more horses

The longer lower intake runners on the 03 track has a lot to do with its more felt "rawness". 35th has shorter runners for better topend. The longer ones give better torque.

I'm content with my 03 Track, but if someone offered a trade for their 05 35th, I'd do it...

wanna trade? haha jk...i love my car regardless, i guess there's always a trade off...more hp, less torque, more refined, less raw...i would want to drive my 35th for daily driving and the track well...for the track
