Thats Euro light reglementation.

You don't have to see signs on your left. If it's soo dark you can't see, use the high beam untill traffic comes the other way. Their lights will work for you then...

Any body who say "These SUV blinds me so I will blind them back" has some small appendage issue...

The uneven appearance of your lights is normal. This is how most HID systems are adjusted so that the oncomming traffic is not blinded. I have a Nissan Murano before the Z and it was the same.
