I'm glad I develop software for GIs and I'm glad you won't see one iota of my software. 3.5 gpa in high school ... you're kidding right? Getting a 3.5 in high school is like bragging you just won the 100m dash in a special olympics event. I'm 28 and I can't believe how far out of touch you are from reality.

Just what the military needs, a jackass posing as an officer.

Oh no, conjuctions, how long did it take to look that word up? do you really think you have a chance in the real world with that attitude? The world will chew you up and spit you out ... but then again there's always mom and dad to fall back on. I envy your situation.

BTW: you might want to study up on what the actual color of your parent's Z is. Gray is not a color for any Z. The only thing remotely close to "gray" is Silverstone. You might want to use that 3.5 IQ of yours and find out what colored Z you're actually driving.

First off I'm 17.

As a young Z driver I have to say there is somewhat of a hate towards teens that drives Z's or anyother sports car. I do see where they are coming from. There are a lot of teens who are completely spoiled and a-holes. They come on the forums and talk S**t about how their parents brought them a Z and they either: (a.) got a speeding ticket or (b.) asking stupid questions like how to drift or do burnouts. There has just been to many spoiled brats out there to cover up all the teens that work hard for their Zs. Humans naturally remember all the bad things they hear over the good ones. Say your on a really good date, everythings going great. Then all of sudden your date said they have been taken by aliens. Naturally thats the one thing your going to remember and all you keep telling yourself is how you want to get out of there. So this is basically what happened with all the teen drivers. And it is true that you really wont care for the Z as you would if you paid for it yourself. My dad brought me my first car ( 2001 Chevy Malibu! ) and honestly I really didn't care what happened to that car. But the Z is completely different. I sometimes don't even want to drive my Z because I know its a bad location and my Z could get egg or keyed. You really wont know if you didn't pay for your car.

While us (young Z drivers) do want older Z drivers to know that there are some of us who aren't spoiled brats and work hard for our Z. So please don't think that all teens that drive Zs are spoiled brats.

Age is but a number.

Yes, there's the tendency of youger Z drivers that give us all a bad name.

On the other hand, I see people that r 25+ that are stuck at the maturity level of a 15 year old at times. Stupidity sometimes just doesn't dimish with age in certain people.

Again, age is but a number.

I'm 17.

My Dad told me he'd never buy me a car (not because he can't afford it), so I earned the money myself and bought my Z (3 months ago, black 06 Enthusiast...pics sooner or later!).

Going to a private school at which 1 out of 5 kids gets given a $50,000+ car when they turn 17, I can say that there's definitely a "general hatred" towards us. This "general hatred" isn't unwarranted, either -- most of the kids are douchebags. They think that they're better than everyone because their Dad's rich, and it shows. They drive like tools, and almost all of them have crashed at least once (Dad, of course, pays for the repairs without hesitation).

It's not fair to hate everyone whose parents bought them a car, but a lot of the time the people deserve it. A lot of the time, too, it has to be about jealousy. Hell, I'm jealous... if my Dad had bought me the car, just think about all the mods I could have bought with that money!

Anyways, even though it's not great to stereotype young Z drivers, it's a pretty safe stereotype. From my experience, 9 out of 10 kids are complete undeserving tools.

Most people show me the "general hatred" until I let them know I bought the Z myself, at which point I usually get some respect. I don't mind, though, because I know that most 17 year olds whose daddies buy them Zs are jackasses... so it's fair for people to assume that I'm one, too.

EDIT: In writing this post, I was addressing the intial topic (23 pages ago, re: a general hatred towards young Z drivers). I was not trying to, as a few dudes on page 22 -- which I just read -- have asserted (in regard to some other kids' posts), trying to impress anyone with the fact that I bought my own Z. Just thought I'd clear that up in advance.

Just to keep this going. Im currently 19 and I just got my 06 Z last week. And wow... YES people hate the fact that someone much younger than them is driving something they wished they had at that same age. I've already gotten so many dirty looks at hangouts and at okeechoobee. And btw, the car is pretty expensive but at the end of the day, were driving a Nissan... not a Ferrari, so dont get it twisted.

Fortunately I was blessed with an amazing job at Carnival Cruise Lines and im able to keep up with payments and insurance for the car. Mind you, my parents did in fact put it under their name and but that doesnt dis-credit anything because of the fact that I work my *** off mon-fri doing what I have to do to make FULL PAYMENTS ON MY CAR MYSELF. If your in the same boat as I am and in the same age range let the hate put a smile to your face because it does to me.

to sum this up, it is not a matter of hate, just that a parent would be irresponsible to put a inexperienced driver behind the wheel of a sports car as a first car. that is the main problem. so it is not the kid's fault at all that his parents are morons

as the first car, I agree, the Z is a little tough. But a car is a car. No math involved to drive a car. but yes "teenagers" are proned to making dumb mistakes and having lead foots.

Jealous of teens that own Zs? Laughable. I can't stand teens driving around in civics either. I guess I'm jealous of them too. Again laughable. The "hate" you perceive from older ppl is derived from the poor attitude (behavior) teens generally display towards others, not the car you're driving.

I've been pretty patient with the name calling thus far, but don't push your luck.

i'm almost 100% with you, but if your parents are paying for housing, utilities, food/clothing, etc then you didnt really "buy" the z in the same sense as the rest of us.
know what i mean?
