Default Is there a General Hate towards Teenages who own Zs?

I've been on this board for a couple of days and from the posts I've been reading, there just seems to be a lot of dislike towards teenagers who had their parents pay for the vehicle. I don't really understand the meaning behind it, just curious as to why its such a big deal. We're all Z owners.

How old are you? Maybe what you are seeing is a generation gap.

I think you'll find that some people don't care what age you are and others don't really like the fact that teenagers get a sports car handed to them by their parents. As long as you show that you're responsible and mature I don't think anyone is gonna have a problem with you owning the car.

I won't call it hate. It's more of a concern that these kids are being spoiled rotten by their parents.

Haters. Some [most, if not all] are jelous that you get such a nice car at such a young age where they had to work for years to be able to afford it.

And it`s not even THAT expensive, you could buy a used 03 Z for less than 17,000..

its cuz when im 16 i worked for my first car
and i expect everyone else to do the samething...
spoiling children = terrible and it only raises more kids to end up like Uday Hussein...
If i was a dad I'd not mind buying a crazy nice car for my daughter but for my son he better work for every penny of it...

Purchasing a vehicle for your kid to drive is not something that major. Where I live, I need a vehicle. I have a 30 minute commute anywhere, school, town, etc. So it was beneficial for my father to buy my car. Don't see where its written that its bad for your parents to provide for you.

well i just turned 19 and ive been saving for about a year and i finally got one ....and i can say when you buy your own car you respect it more than if someone hands it to you...i mean mayb if i still went to school and i wanted my parents to help me out i could see asking for it but if your working fuulll time when your my age i dont see a reason to let your parents help you out...plus they cant ever take the keys from you.

I think when you are handed something you don't appreciate it as much as if you had to work for it, there's a great sense of pride and accomplishment when you have to truely work for the things in life. Noone can tell me that its the same when someone gives you something and to have the pride of saying..."Yes I went to school and worked for this." Besides there are very few teens who have enough credit to go to a dealer and have a key handed to them, most of them have their parents to that. Everything evolves around working for what you want, even having good credit to get a car, no teen in this world can go to a dealer and not expect to pay an arm and a leg for $30,000 without good credit, **** at 18 I got my first credit card. Of coarse there's also teens who work and have saved money, and guess what? Good for them, they are on the right road. Mommy and daddy wont be around forever.

i bought myself an audi a4 with my own damn money... and paid for my gasoline and insurance
when i was 17...
and i still took all honor courses in high school, skipped class everyother day and did zero homework...
and i think if i can do it everyone else should be able to do it...
tell me an audi a4 isnt just as much in term of cost as the 350z..
if i set myself (pretty much a loser i guess) as the benchmark and all the non-losers should be able to at least reach that benchmark or surpass it easily...

Well not everyone has the ability to have a single job to pay for a car payment + gas + insurance all at once, and also live in a city where your commute isn't that major. I'd spend over half of my paycheck for gas. Thanks for your story, goodbye.

not alot of respect for the working class huh..

i held a job, maintained my grades, paid for my car, gas, insurance and bought my own clothe and misc accessories...
and if u goto high school the commute shouldnt be too far...
unless u goto private school which is totally by choice lol...

Respect for the working class? What was said that insinuates that I have no respect for the working class. My father works day in and day out 7 days of the week, no time off only for holidays. So don't preach to me about respect when you know nothing.

And in no disrespect towards you, I'm sorry my family supports me more than yours did. I don't have to pay for any of that. Hold what you've done with pride I guess, but some of us don't have that ability to have a job that pays for our vehicle, while going to school.

And yes, I go to private school.
