Is there a General Hate towards Teenages who own Zs?

If i was a dad I'd not mind buying a crazy nice car for my daughter but for my son he better work for every penny of it...
so because you had to work for your car at 16, means this other kid should turn down a Z if his parents want to give it to him? sure... If anything you guys should be hating the parents not the kid, **** no one here would have told there parents not to buy them a z..
+2 no kid int their right mind would not let the parents buy them a Z... but like you said it would be the parents responsibility to hold firm on the rules... with positive emphasis, do good in school, don't race on the streets (funny coming from me), things of that nature... if used correctly you can still make the kid "earn" the car but instead of blood, sweat, and tears... making it academic achievements, teach them not to be materialistic, but be happy that they are fortunate, etc... there is always 2 ways to handle situations...

it's like, "well you may have money but I have better values"...why does there even have to be some kind of competition....it's like we have to have something to throw at the rich because we don't have money so we say we have better values and appreciation.....okay

I don't care if you're rich or poor: If you're a douche bag, you're a douche bag and it shows. (not directed at anyone)

I'm 16 and I own a Z. I wouldn't say I know everything, but I will say I think I have some pretty good appreciation of the value of money. I'm very cheap. My girlfriend says I'm cheap and I don't like to spend money on anything but my car (this is very true). I buy generic foods, ya know, etc.
I'm not cheap about my Z. It deserves the best!
I also think that my Topspeed exhaust will add to the "teenage punk" image, but I don't care, I'm sure it'll sound beeyootiful!

I agree with everybody that said the person who owns the car cant be an ***, for anybody on the boards to like them. I guess you can say that i have grown up a little bit since i got my Z... when i first got it all i would ever do it be fighting with older (i was 18) people about how their jealous cause im younger and have the same car... but i guess i learned they didn't mind as much that i was younger and spoiled... but that i would rub it in. GROW UP and live life. and close this thread
The way i see it it DOESNT MATTER HOW U GOT IT!!!! cant we all agree that the Z is a bad a$$ car... but there are a few jerk teens.... but WHO gives a damn let them do what they want with their lives... i thought this site was about the 350Z not how old you were when u got it or how you paid for it... besides... let them live it up... when they move out, just see what their 1st car THEY themselves buy, if its better, hats off to u, u deserve it, but if its a honda or something of that nature keep tryin buddy you get it sometime
Well, I fall in the middle of this entire discussion. I am 23.
My first car, at 17.5, was a Mazda Rx7 - a 1986. It was my Dads old car. I paid for gas and that was it. I didn't get in any accidents, but I did spin it out once in the rain (first night I took a drive on my own on the way back from the g/f house).
The Z, is my second car. I drove a Jeep intermittently, but it was also a parents car so it wasn't mine. My Dad put up the down payment for the Z, $2,000 and I bought a used 2003. I am responsible for gas, payments and insurance on my own since I do work full time. I got the downpayment, because quite frankly, how am I going to get to work without a car (since I can't get a down payment to get one). Driving 46 miles a day (which isn't far, but more than most) in a 1985 Civic with 200,000 miles isn't really a good bet either.
I've had the Z about 8 weeks now. I spun it once, the first few days driving it. Since then, I haven't done anything near.
My arguement is, regardless of age, everyone who drives a Z has been stupid at one point or another. You cannot tell me, that you have NEVER done a nice 0-60 shot, tires smokin', or busted 140 mph on the highway. You've done it, and so have the kids.
Yes, being a teenager with 300 hp at the crank doesn't help matter, but, I don't think its fair to act innocent as if you drive like a grandmother everywhere. And you driving at 120 mph isn't any more "safer", or "experienced" than an 18 year old at 120 -- its still extremely dangerous.
If we talk about working for cars, and such as that, I agree with you -- kids don't appreciate it as much. But I really don't think its fair to bring up how dangerous people drive. What is safer, 120 mph in a the Z, or 120 mph in the Civic? The Z stops a hell of a lot faster, and it handles a hell of a lot better.
I don't disrespect the 16 year old driving the Porches that Daddy bought. He was born into money - who are we to say his parents can buy him the 911 if they want to? I disrespect the 16 year old who drives the Porche, and thinks they are all high and mighty over everyone else. Otherwise, drive the nicest car Daddy can buy for you, you all would to given the chance.

I was given my first car, but it was a '66 VW bug. Loved that car.
When I see teenagers who act like they own the world because of what their parents have bought them I get incensed, and I live in an area where teenagers are driving some incredibly expensive cars so I see it all the time. Kids looking down their noses at people who work for a living suck IMO, and again, I see it all the time.
Hey, if your parents want to give you a silver spoon and you want to act like an a$$wipe because of it, more power to you. I have the satisfaction of knowing that over time you will get your a$$ handed to you by the person who actually had to work for what they have and learned the smarts that comes with that.
On the other hand I know kids who have been given things by rich parents and, because their parents brought them up right, they show a great deal of respect people who may not be as well off.
When I see $hit like this though I realize that there is a class of people in this country who are "rich trash" and hope they get all they deserve when they grow up. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16441559/site/newsweek/).
