Default Aluminum Steering Wheel Trim

Does anyone know where I can buy the two blank aluminum steering wheel trim pieces? Mine are starting to wear and look like crap. Does anyone have ones they are not using or know where to get them? Any help would be appreciated, especially if you have a product #. Thanks

Check with courtesyparts.com

They probably aren't listed on the website but if you email them, they will get back to you within 24 hours (from my experience).

Also, they undercut dealer prices more often than not...

I checked into that a while ago and came up with nothing. If you find them post back here so I can get a set too.

This post belongs in the interior forum. There are pieces available to cover almost everything inside the 350Z. I'm willing to bet that something is available to cover the steering wheel.

Is the car still under warranty? If so I would try to get the dealer to replace the 2 pieces under warranty.

I would use the argument that if Nissan used quality materials that were not DEFECTIVE in the first place, the 2 pieces wouldn't have "worn out" the way they did.

I would argue that this does not fall under "NORMAL WEAR and TEAR",
and tell them we've all seen hundreds of steering wheels on older cars whose parts don;t wear out like that.

TELL them you've owed several cars whose steering wheels never WORE OUT at all or even as badly as this one did so soon.

Ask them if this is really what Nissan intended the steering wheel to look like after only xx miles or xx months.

Tell them people have seen the steering wheel and asked whjy it looks so worout like that.

DO NOT let them tell you to "call Nissan" and take it up with them. That is just their way of getting rid of you.

What Silver350ZAZ said.

My aluminum piece on the left side of the steering wheel had small part where the clear was coming off. I took it to the dealer and showed it to them. They checked on it and said that Nissan does not provide that piece by itself, so they replaced the entire steering wheel under warranty!

Ask then to replace it under warranty. I got my entire steering wheel replaced because the leather started wrinking. Performance Nissan took care of me--no hassle.

They will replace it. I got a new Burnt leather seat because the bolster was wearing out after only a year or so.
