Smile 350Z ----> RB26 Swap

Sorry I am new to the forum and just bought my 06 Z. I love the car and have just been wondering about doing some unusual stuff to it. I just got y 300ZX rebuilt by ZFEVER in Tampa and have realised the cpapbilities that they have, they didi a great job

Has or Does anyone know if an RB26 would fit in a 350Z. I can only imagine what a well built and well tuned skyline motor would be like in a Z. I am just wondering. Thanks
cameron

It fit but d'ont know how it is done, personnaly not a fan of engine swaps, gaining max power of original motor is better for me.

Signal Auto tolled me that it cost around 50-60K for swap the engine and the gear (it's your choice to get RWD or AWD) plus installation.

that what they tooled me last year , so by now may be they lowers there price

I have no idea where you got this information, but whoever "tolled" you that is dead wrong.

This sort of swap shouldn't be that difficult. It'd be a lot of work for sure, but it should be attainable. Custom mounts, driveshaft, IC piping and wiring are going to be the biggest concern next to getting a decent motor.

I also have a few pics of a pair of Z's that are RB powered rumored to be awd, I'll have to see if I can dig them up.

I talked to Mckinney Motorsports and they said it was $8500 for engine/transmission and about another 15 to 20 grand to have it put in the car.

the sr20 saves weight, cost slightly less $ to mod but would be working harder to make the same power due to displacement.. but other than that a VQ should be able to take you to whatever power you can afford.. unless you have a fully built rb26 collecting dust that you spent all your $on.. untill MABY the new skyline comes or a 450z or something like that that will be a few crashed and motors for cheap, quick mounts and drop in then maby a swap could save $ and make power over fi.. my .02

wtf you guys just believe anything. my friend just bought his RB25DET for about 5k and including all the other parts about 9k. swapped it himself and shops would charge around 1k to do the swap. that isnt even close to the 20 grand you ppl are saying.

shops charge an average of 1-2k they wont charge you 10 or even 5. how can you believe that. most shops would finish the swap in days, if they had time.

If you have the money and the time, you can do anything.

These cars aren't like Hondas, you can't just swap out engines like Lego pieces.
