MT all the way.
dunno who you're talking about.. but I haven't seen anybody disguise any boot.... and I sure haven't.... it's my car, it's a z, when peopole see it they say "nice car" I've never heard any auto comments.... I don't drag and I don't race, maybe that's the difference...

I bought the car for myself and not somebody else... I love my car and anybody who doesn't like it, can keep watching from their civic...

I wasn't directing my comment to you. I just think its funny how I see threads on people with AT showing each other how to mod their shifter to look like their car is MT.

if you get an AT the car drives you.

if you get a MT you drive the car. i have an MT and use it as my daily driver and have no qualms about it. i dont see how much more unpractical it is to get an MT over an AT. if i want practicality i would have bought a 4 seater car like a prius or something.

yeah, ideally, one would get a car that he/she likes and not care about what other thought. although, i think it would be kinda annoying explaining why you would buy a two seater sports car because it was more practical.

It isn't more practical, but the Z only comes in 2 seats (the G35 is NOT a Z ). The Z does come with an 5AT ...

For "practical" I have my other car, an X5 3.0 TD, for fun the Z

my buddy & I both bought are cars almost together... he got a 6speed rx8, i got a 6 speed Z. we have average commutes every morning on the dreaded 405.
as of today, he wishes he had gotten an automatic cause he hates bumper-to-bumper shifting, me, i wouldn't dream of even considering an automatic.
basically its different strokes for different folks.. depends on whether its your daily driver and whether u like stick shifts to begin with.
get someone who has a stick and drive it for a day before u get a stick & then realize you want an automatic...

A 37 page post on replaced transmissions?

I hope not on the autos.

This is the stupidest "saying" ever. How can you possibly link having an AT too wanting choices in life to be made for us? You must be brilliant in your circle of retards.

Wonder if I can get the Enzo (or any other Ferrari) w/ an automatic?? C'mon, no sports car should be auto-trans. This shouldn't even a consideration. My 2 cents.

Everyone on this board subscribes to the Doctorine that "If it is more expensive it is better" and "You get what you pay for". By that logic, the 5AT is more expensive and therefore Better.

End of Discussion.

hahaha by your logic, a civic with 24 inch spinners with diamonds on it would be better than a Z.

sure the the civic with diamond spinners would cost more, but it should would be a pain in the *** explaining why you got a civic with diamond spinners on it.

similar to explaining why youd get a Z with AT.

theres nothing wrong with AT. the only 2 problems i see (if it can be considered problems) is
1) people saying how youre retarded for gettin an AT sportscar
2) coming from driving AT all my life, driving MT just feels more like im driving the car instead of riding in it.

thats basically the only difference

convenience (AT) vs not being ridiculed and having more control of your car

I will just mark it up to jelousy, People that couldn't afford to buy an AT when they bought the car..

Really though..

i have mixed emotions about my 5AT. When I was working out the deal on the car, the I could only Find 1 Super Black ZR, It was a 5AT. I didn't really want the Auto since I like driving a stick, but the Wife pressured me a bit and the Auto "Wasn't that bad" IMO..

I have grown to like the Auto just for the convenience of throwing it in drive and being done with it, especially if im tired. BUT, I really do miss having the stick when I'm wanting to get on it.. The manual Mode is fun, but the trow is way too long with the 8 inch "*****" of a shifter. So I might do the MOMO short thow swap out.. Maybe that will satisfy my desire to shift a bit.
