To Mr. mod here KCOBEAN.

Before you censored and closed my thread about my experience at AlteredAtmosphere I think you should consider that you may be hurting your credibility because in just a short period of time the following members here have given negative testimonials about AAM

Until AlteredAtmosphere gives an explanation as to why these particular members have had a negative experience I feel that it is shamefull, wreckless and purely capitalistic in promoting companies who are not acting with 100% honesty.

This website is great because of it's members. And from the better business burea reports of both AAM and Intensepower.com I think it would be wise to hold your sponsors accountable for what they do, especially when it comes to your members!

People come hear new to the scene and looking for helpfull, HONEST, information. How can you sit there and take money from a sponsor when you obviously have current members who are not happy at the least from the service they had with AAM

How can you just close a thead when people are clearly speaking the truth about what they feel and have experienced? You should be sticking up for the members, not for the sponsor or untill the sponsor explains themselves.

KCOBEAN I ask you please to consider your credability, you just canned and closed a thread about AAM that you didn't like even though 3 others members than myself chimed in to share similar experiences. And the thread was only up for less than a day!

Come on bro....that's not what an honest, stand up mod should do for the board. In the end you'll make for friends by standing up for your fellow board members than to just take their money and let them sell at will regardless of the way they are treating YOUR customers.

Especially with intensepower.com They have almost 9 unresolved disputes of BBB official complaints! And most people never take the time to take it all the way to the BBB! Be a man and show us that you respect us members, not that you value the money of the sponsors more than the end result for the customer.

The 1# thing that pissed me off about AAM is that when I asked them "I'm sending my car to you, can you make it work for 5-6,000" Mike said "Yeah"

I hate being BS'd!! They should have just said it would be more like 7-15,000 like it would have been with any good shop! I'm a business man, I'm always racing against the clock so when people waste my time of mislead me I get furious. Now I"m even more pissed that KCOBEAN has obviously taken sided with AAM and $$$ over 4 nice, honest members of this community. And I bet you anything more members would give their negative feebback. I have a few PM's from others members as well who said that they were glad I stood up and made a stand.

If www.my350Z.com continues to promote companies who have bad raps without holding them accountable then the future of this site will be in great jeopardy. You can't hold back the truth, the origional thread should have not just been tured off when there was more than legitimate complaint

Whatever beef you have with AAM is between you and them and I care less about it. But I can tell you if kcobean closed your thread it was due to a violation of ToUs. Believe me when I tell you kcobean would not close it otherwise..

 

for one you asked them if you could make 400 hp for 5000-6000 dollars. then you changed to 500 hp. how do you think you pick up 100 additional hp? it cost money. he told you that you needed a plenum spacer and other things and you got mad. well you want big power? then step up and pay for it.
you talk about intense power and aam having unsettled disputes? they work with THOUSANDS of people a year! what do you expect?

your problems with aam and kelly have no bussiness in the open forum... aam is a very respected company and you blasting them in here when you dont even know what it takes to make power isnt needed in the forums. and it should have been closed just as this one should be. and since you put this out there to cause a lot of ****and not only questioned a mod but basicly told him to get ****ed just now and knowing how fast the mods are here to issue "time off". well im suprised you are still here

kcobean is a fair moderator and he was 100% right in closing your thread. This is no place to lash out against a company. There are Private Messages for a reason; use them.

If they scammed you or something of the sort then i`d understand, but you were indecisive and it sounds like a miscommunication to me.

 

I'd like to think the thread was closed because of those 2 guys' fighting and namecalling.

1. I didn't censor your thread. Every word that was posted in it is still there.

2. I closed the thread because it had devolved into name-calling and **** measuring between two users, which is a violation of the TOU. It had nothing to do with the fact that you were flaming a sponsor of this board. If it was, I would have just deleted the thread. If you want to publicly flog someone for the thread being closed, perhaps you should go after these two users (though that also would be a violation of the TOU, so I wouldn't advise it).

3. The point of your post was to express your displeasure with the shop. You did exactly that without any interference from me and a number of others did the same. I personaly think your post was unwarranted, but that was just me as a fellow member expressing my opinion.

4. AAM doesn't owe you or this forum a single word of "defense" about why these other folks don't speak positively of them. Their relationship with their customers is their business, not the worlds unless they choose to make it so.

5. my350z.com doesn't promote AAM, it provides them with an advertising medium to promote themselves. I won't get into the whole 'liability' aspect with you, but I'll say that your understanding of business is clearly lacking if you feel that my350z.com has done you wrong by allowing AAM to advertise here.

6. Hold advertisers accountable for what they do? I suppose you're going to go after your local TV station next time Pizza Hut gets your order wrong? That sir, is now how the game works.

7. I consider my credibility every time I take a moderating action. I evaluate posts/threads against the TOU. If they're within bounds, they stay open. If not, they get closed. If the entire thread or its' topic is a violation of the TOU, it gets removed. Your thread served its' purpose; you shared your experience and warned people about a shop you had 'a problem' with. As with many threads though, people can't seem to act maturely towards one another and they got your thread closed due to their behavior. Again, if you have a problem with that, speak with them. Maybe if the members start holding each other accountable for their conduct in each others' threads as much as you expect the forum to be accountable for the actions of its' advertisers, threads like yours wouldn't get closed.

8. As a moderator, my job is to enforce the TOU which is what I did, so as far as I'm concerned, I've met the "stand up mod" criteria.

9. Not sure what you're talking about with intensepower.com or why they are part of your rant.

10. I don't "take money" from any sponsor, and they're not "my customers", but I find it interesting that you want to be considered a 'customer' of this forum, yet you're not a paying member. What should this forums liability to you as a 'free-member' be?

11. As I stated in my post, I *never* called you ignorant, I simply repeated your words....In fact, I QUOTED you. I cannot insult you with labels you have applied to yourself.

12. I haven't taken sides with ANYONE. I made my observations in your thread that you obviously didn't like, but I'm entitled to do so just like every other member of this forum. Your understanding of why your thread was closed is WAY off base, and this thread displays that.

If I was the big bad moderator you make me out to be, I would just delete this thread and ban you for YOUR violation of the TOU (Article #10), but I won't. I will say that I find this thread very immature. You should have taken this up with me personally. If you had approached me as an adult with your complaint, I might have re-opened your original thread, but there is no chance of that now. Guess we'll see if you learn from this whole experience, or if you let your temper get the best of you.

my point of view: there are always some bad companies. there are always some projects that don't go as planned, or people that aren't happy.

but i have to say that the OP was not in the correct boat to be 1. going FI, 2. going for 400-500 HP. Do you even have any idea that a turbo car requires quite a bit more of maintenance and TLC? if you blew your car up in the first couple of months you owned it, how the hell do you not think you would again with FI????

There are a couple of books that you should read:

"Modern Engine Tuning" by A. Graham Bell

"Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging" by A. Graham Bell

"Haynes High performance tuning Series: Engine Management" by Dave Walker

Read these books before modifying your car. it is not cheap to build a car and the books are a lot cheaper

i spent almost $2000 on the dyno... and about another 1500 miles of auto tuning on the road (gotta love the autronic SMC) to get my cars tuned the way i wanted to.

and gauges i recommend? oil pressure, turbo inlet temp, intake manifold inlet temp, A/F (which isn't the best way to tell how your car is running because it has a slight delay), definately need EGT gauge, boost, oil temp, fuel pressure and maybe a few more that aren't a necessity, but you don't need.

there is a science to this... and you were trying to skip it... read and learn.. otherwise we will have one more dead Z, or you will end up wrapped around a tree. read and learn, it will save you money in the long run. you obviously seem to IGNORANT to even be trying to turbo charge a car without knowing what the AAM guy was talking about.

btw, that sucks if your injectors were tuned to 100% duty cycle... i always tried to keep my cars at 85-88% MAX

In this great country, we are free to speak pretty much as we please. If the opinions of individuals are suppressed on this site they WILL be expressed elsewhere. However, this site and all like it, must have "some" sort of rules and regs. I am not saying that this thread should be/should have been stopped, I am simply stating the obvious really. Opinions should be expressed with facts and the rest is up for the general population to decide. If and when opinions are not based around facts/examples, then they are simply attacking and childish and should not be permitted. I would also add, where there's smoke, there's fire... Do your due diligence when spending thousands of dollars and make the best choice possible.

Maybe you feel comfortable about ignoring customers/members and BBB complains. I however am not. i know there are several members who totally agree with what I have said and stand for. But I tell you what, if I was a MOD at this place I WOULD infact take a proactive approach to make sure companies we are working with are in fact reputable and honest. I wouldn't just sit back and not care about people being taken advantage of or misled.

 

but your not. and aam didnt do anything wrong. but you did....you didnt know what you were getting in to by your own admission. you sent it somwhere else and paid more. just as aam told you it would cost...

This forum has no liability to me nor does it owe me anything. But promoting companies with multiple BBB complaints is not cool no matter how you spin it. I know it's not "your customer" but you are clearly backing the reputation of an entity which you have obviously no concern of it business doing's. Just go ahead and keep turning a blind eye bro, or just close this thread altogether like the last one.

I'm going to close this thread, because you've said your piece in the original thread that denigrated into a flamefest so it was closed. It wasn't to hide your opinions, because it was not deleted. It wasn't necessarily even your comments that got it closed, there were others name calling and flaming at the end.

Now, you can't let well enough alone and keep rehashing and somehow blaming the site and kcobean for some dispute you've gotten into with AAM that could probably have best been handled privately.

Consider this your warning to let the issue drop here.
