Default SH*T HIt the FAN WITH MY ORDER

gave 1,000 dollars in aug. for a silverstone base. The dealer waits till nov. to put in the order. turns out they put in an order for the wrong color car. Sales manager assured me it was the right color, i have a friend at another dealer who personally called the NISSAN southeat regional office in charge of distribution of 350z. Specialist told him it wasn't a silverstone. son of bitccch was lying the whole time tr;ying to cover his mistake. Not only that the ETA ON THE CAR ACCORDING TO NISSAN IS APRIL...

I SURE AS HELL AIN'T GONNA WAIT 9 FREAKEN MONTHS FOR A CAR I DONT EVEN WANT. SOOOOOO, AM GOING DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK ARRAIGNED A MEETING WITH THE BIG BOSS. TIME TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS BULLSH1T.

ANYBODY GOT ANY ADVISE ON HOW I SHOULD HANDLE THIS WITH OUT LOSING MY MIND AND GETTING A CAR AT THE END??????

As frustrated as you must be now, be sure you are calm and "professional" about the situation. When you are meeting with the GM, make sure he knows what the problems are, and give him a chance to make things right. You get farther killing them with kindness than by being a raving jerk. Tell him you entered into an agreement for a specific car to be delivered around a specific time and that you are simply asking that they fulfil that agreement. If you have a written agreement, you've got more power. If you have nothing in writing, then you may have to rely on the GM's good nature, and will have learned a valuable lesson.

Now there is a possibility that the GM is a jerk himself and that he doesn't really give a sh$t. Let him prove that first before walking away from the deal (assuming you can get your deposit back). If you can't get your deposit back, file a complaint with NNA, BBB and consider your local TV news/newspaper consumer advocate (if there is one near you).

Not sure about your area, but I live just south of Chicago and there is no shortage of Z's. I would get the deposite back and look somewhere else. I was at a dealer over the weekend that had 10 on the lot and 2 in the show room. All were different colors and trim levels.

Try to get the dealer to correct their mistake by getting you a car from another dealership with your exact specifications. Dealer's swap cars with each other all the time... should work the same with a Z.

Keep your cool, but be assertive and professional too -- might be hard considering what you've been through, but its worth a shot. State that your are disappointed with the way your order was handled and that NNA is receiving a full report from you regarding your buying experience.

If that fails, ask for a refund of your deposit. I think you're entitled to it and that general manager would understand and accomodate your request. Should you get the return of your deposit, shop around -- there are Z's (most likely w/ your specifications) sitting around on lots across FL and the US. You can have your Z in a week.

Lastly, what dealer did this to you in FL? Just curious...

SO i go to the dealer to get my money back. AND THE SALESMANAGER SAYS HE GOT ME A CAR. SAME COLOR SAME MODEL I WANT. ETA JAN. 28. GOT A VIN NUMBER AND EVERYTHING IT EVEN HAS EXTRA OPTIONS I DIDNT ORDER. LIKE AERO PACKAGE, SPLASH GUARDS.

COULDN'T BELIEVE IT I DONT KNOW HOW IN THE HECK HE FOUND A BASE MODEL WITH THE SAME COLOR I WANTED BUT I COULDNT BE HAPPIER. ALTHOUGH I DO THINK THE Z LOOKS BETTER WITH OUT THE AERO WING IN THE BACK. CAN I HAVE THEM TAKE IT OFF IF I DONT LIKE IT//////////////

monkey - I think there is a problem with your keyboard dude.

caps lock off man.

Anyway - no, I don't think they can take the spoiler off the rear of the car unless you want to have a couple of holes in your hatch lid. I imagine a body shop could fix you up, but that will really add to the cost of your car.

Glad to hear it worked out for you.

Enjoy your car.

Drake.
