I think its just your seats, i have an 03 touring and they seem to work fine. If its really cold out I start it and put it on the Hi mode usually I'll put it on low if its a lil chilly.

I usually let one rip to get the seats going a little quicker!

You are absolutely right.
I was looking forward to those seats last fall, but when winter came, I was really disappointed. Even on high, they take about as long to warm up as the heater does, and by that times its really too late. Plus, the heat is uneven and just does not surround you with much warmth.

Yep - compared to any other heated seats I have experienced, the Z's are weak. It seems american cars have the best heated seats. My old 3 series were decent, my VW was good, but I was in a Cherokee and I nearly scalded my ***. My inlaws explorer will literally boil water.

I took my Z to the dealer and they said after a few minutes they cycle on and off and that all was ok.

I agree the heated seats aren't that great. On my escalade the seats get almost burning hot in a matter of seconds.

If you wear like slacks you can feel the heat, but if you wear like thick Levi Jeans then you hardly notice them.

Also, I notice the seats only get hot if you're sitting on them. When I warm up my car in the morning, I come back to cold seats when my seat heaters were on full.

+100,003 our heated seats are a pretty big disappointment... in fact the whole touring model is pretty disappointing unless you plan to leave the car 100% stock. I still wish I had gotten an enthusiast.

The Z seat heaters are just kinda weak. My GTP on low is a lot warmer than the Z's on high, and the Z's cycle on and off all the time (which I wished they didn't do).
