Military Z Owners
I have been called a drug dealer, pimp, you name it. I tell all the haters that I am married to a woman with a good job and don't have kids. It is not my fault that some choose to have half a dozen kids and live paycheck to paycheck. I'd rather have fun in life.
Yeh.... when i filled up at the gas station the other day, the chick inside asked if that was my parents car, i said... "no"... then she asked if I was a drug dealer!!!!! In which she was trying to make a joke out of.. although dug herself a hole!
I had my 300Z when I was in the Navy. I was single, an E-6, and lived off base. I also just got back from floating on an aircraft carrier for over 6 months in the Med when I bought it. Not too hard to save some additional money when you don't have any bills and only get like 12 days off the boat in 6 months.
So, I got back and bought a demo 300ZX. My Chief tried to tell me I needed credit counseling because I spent way too much money on a car. I just laughed at him and never went. I put over 50% down on that car and had payments less then most of the people I worked with that were driving far less expensive cars.
Anyway, just laugh at them when they hate on you.

Navy E-6 here! I feel everyone's pain. I don't think that they understand that we leave for so long and that causes you to save most of your money. For the last 2 years I have over 240 days underway each year. That means that I was able to put 8G's down and trade in my old car to get the payments down on the Z where the were manageable. Some people have no clue about money management!!
Yea I was on base yesterday in the Z and went to BK's and the chic who took my money was like "what are you doin in that car" and I was like huh and she was like "Is that your parents or something?" I was like no I just got back from Iraq and saved all my money and put 10k down on it. ONLY good thing about Camp Lejeune and NC is that tax is 3% not 8.25 in Texas.
I get looks from like Majors and **** like "whats this young punk doin in such a nice car. I don't give a ****. I earned my money, managed it well and am reaping the benefits. Hell after all the working parties I've done this is the least the Marine Corps could help me get lol.
Funny how little kids and well pretty much everyone stares at my car.
I also was talking to some hot *** chic in a sliver Z a few days ago. But I think she was from out of state

Just wanted to say what's up to my fellow soldiers out there. I'm actually in the sandbox right now, so seeing this post was cool. I was going to post a pic of my ride but the good ol' gov't Lan is blocking my photobucket account from here.
I (Navy staff corp O-3) had thought I would attract too much attention in a Z..but last month, another guy drove passed me on base in a E46 M3... And just this past friday, 2 spaces away at the parking lot was a Mercedes CLS. Licenese plate: "MB4ENC."
I'm about to commision as a butter bars in the air force and am planning on purchasing a Z either this week or next. I've done the math, and even with almost nothing down, i don't see a hard time affording the payments. I love cars, so putting most of my money towards them isn't a big deal for me. I think most people that question how you can spend so much on a car, don't really know what its like to love cars. They just use to them get around.

I think that's really what it comes down too. Some people really love to garden and will spend tons of cash on plants, food, special soil or whatever gardeners spend tons of cash on, it simply doesent interest me. I just happen to like Z's. Any doubt in my mind if it's worth it to spend that much is totally washed away every time I start it up....worth every penny.
