Default race gas?

my mechanic has an evo and for some races uses race gas. he said i should get some soon because i think im getting my car dyno tuned and the guy there said for an extra 100$ i can get another map for my car using race gas. has anyone used race gas and is it good and safe to use with 350's? also i have nismo CAI, 5/16" plenum spacer, nismo exhaust, and labree test pipes, how much extra hp and/or tq do you think i will gain getting utec and getting a dyno tune? also, what should my redline be at, i have the 287hp motor?

Race gas is great if your going to create a seperate map for it. Timing will be advanced and you will gain some power. It wont be as much as turbocharged vehicles, but its still something.

There's a Speedway by me that sells 110 octane racing gas. I stick with my Sunoco 94.

I wouldn't use a leaded race gas in a car that still has the catalytic converters. That could be an expensive mistake if your state has strict emissions testing requirements. There are some unleaded gases that have higher octane ratings, but with the mods you mention, I doubt you'd see any significant gains.

I used race gas alot in my bikes (sunoco blue, I think 112) I felt a little difference high rpm's. I am just not sure I want to spend $6.00 a gallon or I'd give it a try in the Z.

Well, if you use leaded gas you have to have test pipes. Plus the leaded gas will ruin your o2 sensors, so you might as well stick to unleaded. Cool blue 100 is fine for our applications you dont want to go higher because you wont knock with 100octane.
