Slexis200: What problem were you having? I have been having a difficult time when shifting into 1st and when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Basically it just won't go into gear sometimes. Is this the same problem you have? Everyone I talk to says that this is normal, but I've driven my fair share of manuals and there is no way in hell that this is normal. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
eddie , have you break into your car yet?
2-3 month ago slexis had the same problem as you and i, stiff and nochy shifter. we both took our cars to different dealers, they told the us the same thing over and over again, its normal.
we even tried to call NNA many times, but they couldn't do anything unless the dealer aknowledge that there is a problem.
eventually both of us gave up.
after a month or 2 i finished my break in, the shifter got better, although sometimes it still gets stiff, but its alot better than before. However slexis200's problem got worst. he began to hear grinding sound at 3rd and 4th gear. only then, the dealer aknowledged the problem and tried to fixing it.
so my friend, i would suggest try to break in your car a little more, unless you hear grinding when your shift, don't bother to take it to the dealer, they would do jack. i tried so many times, its just a waste if time. hopefully your car will get better as time goes. good luck.

You can do a search about my problems but here you go anyway. My trans started grinding downshifting into 3rd at about 3500 miles. Sometimes upshifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd but about 80% when downshifting. Brought it to the dealer, and 1 week later, a Engineering investigator with NNA came to look at my car. They tried replacing the Clevis and it still did the same thing, so they replaced the whole trans that day with the new Clevis. This made a HUGE difference. The clutch feel is totally different. It grabs differently and has a different feel to it. I have now put over 6000 miles on the NEW trans with NO problems what so ever. I am 100% satisfyed............................ I told slexis to get his checked out again and they also replaced his trans....
I thought this problem would go away after break in but, I have about 4200 miles on my Z. I'm going to wait until I get about 5k on it before I take it to my dealer. Unfortunately my dealership is about half retarded (no offense), and I have a feeling that this is going to be an uphill battle all the way. I have bad feeling my tranny isn't going to get better. Sometimes when I'm putting it into 1st gear at a complete stop I hear a grinding sound. Thanks for your input guys, hopefully these problems will get sorted out.
You don't have to go to your dealer for warranty service.... You can go to any Nissan dealer to ahve the work done. They should be happy to do it because they get paid book time for warranty work.
