I had a problem with my 04.5 nav door opening/closing. It was making a grinding noise and not completely opening. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the entire door unit and the nav unit that reads the CD as I was getting a disc read error. Now, everything works better, is quieter and I've had no problems. I know the door unit was replaced because I had to reposition the LCD screen cuz it was a bit crooked after they worked on it. I could see that the mechanical pieces were different and the slider that door follows was different.

Wasn't there a TSB about this issue?

Mine has stuck closed a couple of times. All I do is take out my trusty nail file and the problem is fixed. If it gets any worse I will have to remember to carry a crowbar with me just in case.
