s2000 hid vs. 350z hid
Yep I agree the multi-color cutoff is due to the position and shape of the cutoff shield. And as far as I know, all OEM HID bulbs have the same color temperature (4300K I believe) because that is the limit for DOT approval I suppose. Based on that, I would contend that all of the various colors emitted by factory HID systems are caused by changes in projector shape and cutoff shield.
HOWEVER, is brightness also controlled by the shape of the projector? I have a hard time believing that. I wonder if we can hook up more powerful ballasts to our stock bulbs to get them brighter, without cooking them? I submit....it looks like a trip to HID planet is in order....

Yeah, usually you can run a 35 watt HID bulb at 50 Watts without too many problems. The life of the bulb is decreased, but what the hey, if it gives you 50 percent more output, Im all for it. You need new balasts though to do this.

What do you mean clear side lenses? I have an 06' Touring with about 1800 miles and my side markers are amber..

As a back story as to how I obtained the S2000 lights, A friend of mine crashed his S2000 into a tree one night, and the next day when I came over to examine the wreckage, I asked him if i could have the headlights (the car was totaled), and he said yes. The headlights were in perfect condition! So now they have a second chance at life as really cool room lights.

I was not refering to the amber lenses on the front bumpers.
