I'm about to buy a 2006 Coupe. Between the Track and Enthusiast, 5k seems like a lot for essentially brakes, rims, and VDC. What're your opinions on VDC...is it worth the extra money when I could probably put a front big brake kit and rims on an Enthusiast for the same price as a stock Track?
Depends on how good a sports car driver you are. VDC can save your butt in a pinch, but if you're a purist and like to push your car, it can get in the way and you'll end up shutting it off all the time. Brembos and those new Rays rims are nice, but you're right, you could get a BBK and aftermarket rims for around $5k too.
There is now way you can buy a BBK and get a set of lightweight forged alloys with tires for $5K. The BBK alone is near $4-4.5K. The rims are also going to run near $4K as well. The track model is a great deal if you don't mind the electrical nannies. I would do base and then hook it all up.

If I were to just get a front BBK, it would be like 2k for a 13" kit. Do you think thats better than having the 12.6"/12.1" Track Brembos?
The new Rays rims are tight, but they still aren't as tight as getting aftermarket rims. I figure I can get nice rims/tires for a little less than 4k, and get a front BBK for 2k. So for 1k more than the track, i get a front bbk and rims, as opposed to VDC, the rays rims, and brembos.
Part of me is saying to stick with getting the model with VDC. Do you guys know if a bbk would interfere with the warranty?

The choice is up to you my son. Either one will work.
Personally, I'd buy the Enthusiast and buy aftermarket BBK and Volks or something. You will end up spending more than 5k to do it right, but it may be worth it to have the aftermarket, as opposed to OEM spec stuff. The Rays rims are nice as heck for OEM, but I still think many aftermarket wheels are nicer looking...
I have yet to see an 06 Track on the road here in Central PA however... so it might not be much different than going aftermarket.
My take on VDC? I have an Enthusiast and I turn the TCS off everytime I start the car. Dry, Rain, Snow... whatever.

If you have the money...go for it. I didn't, but had Brembos on my Spec V and loved em. As for my Z, I'll be getting aftermarket rotors and pads to make up for my stopping shortcomings.

BBK shouldn't affect your warranty. I haveTrack model as well and love it, but even though the '03-'05 Rays are pretty nice, I still wish I had some trick aftermarket rims like the Nismos or LE37Ts. The '06 track rims are an aquired taste, IMO, as far as design is concerned, but you do get the nice width and staggered 18/19" setup. I have yet to see an '06 GT or Track Z on the road with them, so they'll be hot for a while. You could always get the Track, be happy with the Brembos and sell and upgrade your rims later.
True, but a nice BBK in front would be pretty cool, too, and on a car without VDC, the rears are not very important, so you can have real strong, big brakes up front and stockers out back and be ok. Just paint the rear calipers to match the front, at least.
I bought a 2003 Touring and then later upgraded the brakes, sway bars and just recently bought the 2003 350z "Track" wheels used for $500.
In the end it cost me $1700 to make my Touring more "trackable".

Bro, 06 Track here and I love it. Everyone compliments my rims. I like the 18"/19" look. Brembos stop great. And the underbody diffusers seem to be doing there thing at 140+... All around the car is very F-ing stable at all speeds.

You probably could upgrade with factory brembo calipers from Performance Nissan and some aftermarket drilled rotors also. Ok this may be nitpicking but when I see a front BBK I always check their rears to see if the job is done right.
I think you should decide based on your future plans for the car. If you're going to leave it alone, the track is a good model to get. If you are going to upgrade wheels and possibly brakes, it might be cheaper in the long run to get the Enthusiast and build it how you want it. I bought an 03 track, but in retrospect, I probably should have bought an enthusiast or performance model. I've already upgraded the wheels to Volks, and I'm considering doing the brakes. So, I'll end up paying for that stuff twice. Not good planning on my part. Plan what you'd like to do, and then buy the appropriate model.
