This noob has questions...
Yeah, I just confirmed:
245/40ZR18 and 255/45ZR18 are the sizes I am getting the dealer to put on.
You can check them on the tire calculator here:

Pretty simple to use, hope this helps.

Actually, the fronts were over $300 each, the rears were around $250. It came out to be nearly $1200 total. I just told them the car was useless to me without all season tires on it. The guy went to the owner or his son (one of those two, heh) and he immediately agreed. Guess I have a very good dealership.

I disagree. I live in New York (Long Island) and drive my Z daily with no problems. I installed all season tires. On the few days it snows more than a couple of inches, I don't drive my Z for the day until the roads are cleared. Not a big deal.

I wish my job let me wait until the roads were clear before trying to come in
J/K...I use my 3000GT for severe weather. Not really all that great in the snow but I haven't had any major problems yet. My Z stays in the garage during snow storms.
how did you get around in the civic? I assume you have winter tires on it or no?
you can use any set of tires you want, you could go for some truck size tread, and put on 15" rims which Id bet you could get somewhere pretty cheap. but even so, rims plus tread has to be more than just tread.

well obviously the Z takes a bit wider of a tire... which is gonna be rough on snow handling. if you had the same tire for both, you'll be smoking your tires all the time when you try to push it. as it is, the Z has no problem breaking the 18s loose through 2nd gear, and chirping 3rd without trying hard. a thinner set for snow driving would be unpleasant I would imagine.

I wasn't thinking of using my Civic's tires on the 350z, that's just crazy.
What I meant is that I wanted to get the Z with A/S tires on them already, just like raptor303. If the rims get scratched up in the snow/ice, oh well. It'd be no fun for me if I had to store it in the winter.
then Id suggest to get EXTREMELY cheap rims, like spare tire type rims. smaller rim, then just buy a set of winter tires for them, and you have 2 sets, one to have for summer and track use, and a second set for winter beating. if you were to get smaller size rims, wouldnt the tread for it be cheaper?
