Talking I got my Z on Friday night!!!

I finally got a Z on Friday night. It wasn't the one I ordered, but the dealer gave me a great deal on a Performance model! There were problems with my order and some things got screwed up when they tried to get me another car and I went in to complain on Friday. I ended up walking out with a CS Performance for about 1500 under MSRP. I'm SUPER damn happy. I love this car!!!

I've still got the RE040s on but I haven't noticed the hockey puck "feature" yet. Its been over 32 degrees F here in Chicago since Friday, so I've been pretty lucky. This week I'll probably have to garage my babe, since its going to get cold and nasty.

So far the only thing wrong I've found are the greasy windows, but there's a TSB for that, right guys? I'm not sure about the alignment but I'll have them check it if I feel any pulling (too hard to tell at low speeds and on our crappy streets). Otherwise, I'll have them check the alignment at the breakin oil change. (they're giving me that service for FREE)

I gotta say that this car is everything I hoped for and it was well worth the wait! I can't believe the attention it gets. I sort of laughed at all those attention stories, but now I get it. lol

No TSB for the grease streaks. Just tell them about it when you have your first service. They'll do the fix.

Congrats on getting the car at such a good price too!!

Congrats again, Jon. Now you'll have to post pics of the sweet car, so I can be that much more jealous of you.

I'll post pics as soon as the weather gets nicer here (in about a month) and I can layer on the Blackfire.

I gotta say, although the Z isn't as fast as my VR-4 (of course, I'm breaking it in, so I haven't gone over 4k or even WOT), it sure feels more fun. Its hard to explain. Maybe its because the car is lighter or RWD. I know my old VR-4 would kick this car's ***, but the Z is a REALLY fun car to drive.

My biggest compliment so far, since I haven't unleashed the power, is the driving position. Its PERFECT. The car fits me like a glove. Everything is exactly in reach, including the pedals, wheel, shifter, stalks and radio. I'm not too fond of the miniscule view out back, considering you can't see but a 100 yards or so behind the car, but the seating position is phenomenal.

The turn-in response with the 18s is really nice. The steering has a nice solid feel to it. The suspension is very taut and I can tell why some people mention the "porpoising" or "bouncing" effects, but I can't tell if its just from the crappy roads in Chicago. I'll see what its like on an open road when the weather gets a little nicer.

The window grease comes and goes. It appeared yesterday, but after I wiped it off pretty good, I haven't seen it again today. (this is with repeated lowering and raising of the windows... I love the exhaust note)

The 160W radio isn't the best but its not nearly as bad as I figured it would be. It's adequate, considering I love hearing the sound of the car more than the radio right now.

I wasn't too fond of CS initially because of how many people own it, but I gotta admit that I love it now. I do think that its the most complimentary color for the car. Of course, I'm now very biased. lol

SO thrilled...

LOL

No snow for me while I have the RE040s on. I did make it through an alley full of snow ok on Friday night. The snow's all melted here now, though. We're supposed to get more tonight, but I'm so ashamed of my dirty Z!!! lol

Default PPW change to CS eh

Congrat on your new Z, and thanks for sharing the excitment with us.
Recall that you had PPW on order originally, have you ever seen PPW in person? How would you rate it against your CS?(In daylight/ At nighttime)

I guess for the PPW gangs, we have one less potna.

Regards,
Mickey

I've seen PPW and its STELLAR!

CS was my second choice, but I'm not unhappy with it. I did like the idea of having a pretty rare color, but oh well. The CS grows on me everytime I look at the car. It'll be that much better when I layer up the Blackfire.

If they didn't give me a really sweet deal on the CS, I would have waited for the PPW. I really like the white. Its a really great color; very pearly in the sunlight.
