G vs. Z...
This is just my opinion...and only my opinion...so don't be flaming me for this....but, I personally think the sale and popularity of the G35 Sedan is due to it having a coupe....cuz, if you look at it, the G35S is really not that good looking...and if they didn't produce a G35C, G35S wouldn't be selling so good...

here in hawaii, resale on the coupe is much more than the sedan. but i think differently, i think it is so popular because the performance is a bargain. it's a luxury sedan with performance to go.

I'll agree with you on this. The sedan looks like a McSuper-sized Echo.
The coupe on the other hand is slick. Like James Bond slick. It's a good design.
I think cessna wants a Z33 Sedan.

Going back to the original thread title...
Do you guys think the G35c sales would be better had there not been a Z?
Or do you think it helps the G because of it's bloodline?
For the average buyers here in the states of course.
(I'm not talking about Skyline/ Fairlady Z heritage so screw what your momma told you.)

I don't think the layman realizes the G's heritage at all. I certainly don't think they realize that in Japan it's referenced as a Skyline, and/or wtf is a Skyline for that matter. More like "Have you seen that cool 'new' car from Infiniti?"
I can honestly say that when I first started wanting the Z, I saw the G and was like "Now, there's a runner up.", then my buddy smacked me in the head and said "Same car jackass!" Then having studied up a little I found that the G was really a Skyline, and having lived in Japan for 3 years in the military, I knew exactly what a Skyline was.

Interesting comments since the sedan was released before the coupe, establishing the market well before the introduction of the coupe.
In my view, the coupe was designed to fill the gap between the 350Z and the G35 Sedan (aka Skyline).
As some have noted already, the Skyline has a racing heritage going back further than the Z and it was only within the last couple years of the JGTC did you even see a Z on the track even though it was released more than 4 years ago. So far the Z hasn't been able to capture the same honors as the Skyline did for years prior.

and all you out there, lets not make this a Z vs G bashing...but instead, bash the G35S...HAHAHAHA....JUST KIDDIN!!!!
and oh, don't forget, the Z and the G are pretty much the same vehicle...it's just that, the G is the "sister" car to the Z...which makes the Z the "brother" car to the G....now me? I'm a MAN...hahaha
