What day was it?

I saw a clip the other day that had a dark blue Z on it, but they were not talking about the "run" specifically.

Anyway, My Tivo is setup to get Techlive all through the week, except for Wednesdays because it gets Ed.

If it was yesterday then I got it.

Nevermind, I saw the description of today's Techlive.

HOWEVER, my Tivo will get tonight's techlive tomorrow at 10AM.

So, I will transfer it from Tivo using Svideo to Digital8 then Firewire into the PC and squeeze it down for you guys using Windows media encoder or Premier.

Should have it by tomorrow evening.

Yeah, you can rip it, but the process is not exactly a science.

Sometimes it requires alot of trial and error.

First you will need a ripping/uncrypting program like smart-ripper and then you will need a conversion program like FlaskMPEG which will take your MPEG1 video stream and output it into a compressed format using another codec like DIVX.

After that you will need to use a dubbing program like Virtualdub to add in the audio while compressing it down to MP3 format.

Anyway, the process is pretty involved, but go HERE for the best information.

My DVD comes next week. After I get it I will see what I can do.

all you need to do is first rip the DVD. Get Smart Ripper.. selcects which video to rip. Then a DivX Calculator and enter in how long the video is and how big a file size you're aiming for. It will tell you what bit rate to use for DivX codec. Then just input that information into FlaskMPEG.. compress the audio into MP3 (at least 96kb) and thats it. BTW.. you can get these tools by doing a search in yahoo.
