You can use Super instead of premium and it will not hurt anything, but regular will **** you up bad. Premium is recomended if you want to get the performace out of your vehicle. I'v been running Super unleaded in my SS silverado for the last 10 months since my accident since I'm broke as **** not being able to go back to work and super is cheaper than reg unleaded here. Its not had any problems so I don't see the Z having any problems either, though since I'll be going FI on my Z I won't be running anything but premium in it when I get to go back to work and get my car.

Full detonation of the whole mix is rare these days, with knock sensing intervening before it gets that bad.

Yeah right... Nooo problem at all...

For the ECU to pull the timing, it needs a signal from the knock sensor. And it so happens that the knock sensor will send that signal when it detects... knocking !

And knock, even mild, is bad. Take it any way you want, its bad. And you get plenty when you run your engine with regular fuel. You won't hear it, but it's there.

Ok, can we please stop talking and stop makeing new forms about how much gas has become in the past month or 2. Yeah I know we pay $50+ for gas weekly but seriously what's the point in spazing out about it? yeah.. I understand that some people have a hard time affording the monthly car note +$50 for gas weekly I mean what is it like 25 cents more then reg. ok... well other then going too starbucks (or where ever you go) spend that extra dollar or 2 to pay for that next tank of gas! But I guess if you can't afford too put premium gas in a high performance sports car why have the car? you want the most out of your Z rite?.... ok well if you want the best pay for the best! (if that makes sence) But people don't start flameing me cuz I have 10 post I'm just trying too help.

But like I tell people... If you can afford a 30k car you should be able to pay that extra 25 cents and fill it up... like I said (and so many other people have said) Why do you have the car if your not gunna put the proper gas in the car?

Remember.... Its not your cars fault gas is riseing in price ever time you look around. Its your baby take proper car of it!

I daily drive my Z, im 20 years old and I don't make the greatest salary but luckily my Z is already all paid off. Even if I was putting my last 20$ I owned in my car I would buy premium....I mean what the hell is wrong with you people.

If you want your car to run right and use the most aggressive maps run premium.
