Chirping Noise on Accelleration
First of all, let me state that I am NO mechanic, so please bare with me. For some reason, when I quickly accelerate, I hear a very quick, sharp "chirp." On occasion, I hear it while "normally" accelerating. What could possibly be causing this??? I have an 04 E model, completely stock except for a JWT popcharger.
Thanks in advance.

what your hearing is the air being drawn into the popcharger... it makes the whistle sound. Totaly normal
to test it pop the hood have a buddy stand right next to the intake while you give it a quick rev. You should be able to pin point it exactly... Personally i'll drop in to neutral and do that on purpose just because i like it mixed with the exhaust haha.

yup, it's definitely the intake. I've got the same issue (after installing a jwt popcharger) and it comes on, under load, just below 4k. i'm guessing it's air passing over the MAF sensor and was going to try to rotate it to see if it makes a difference. Let me know if you solve this somehow
I don't think he is talking about the intake sound from the popcharger. I have a stock airbox, and get a high pitched chirp/whistle that only lasts a split second. It happens everytime you bump the throttle, even when already giving it gas.
*edit looked up an old thread that pointed towards air intake. Supposedly that chirp/sqeuak is more noticeable with aftermarket intakes like a popcharger. I just find it odd the sqeuak I'm experiancing is not constant, it's a specific length and pitch each time.

its the popcharger, I am positive, I took out the popcharger to clean it up and put it back on, the whistling sound was gone but came back after a while. I guess it doesnt really matter as long as the car feels right. Theres just so much I can worry about in my car, for example, rattling noise here and there, i just ignore them as long as I dun feel anything wrong with the car.
its the butterfly in your throttle body
whistling. had it with the stock air box. put the pop charger on and have the same whistle but louder.
dont believe me?take the filter off and start it up.
