Default the (!) light keeps coming on when hard acc and brake!!!

Hey there,

I just got my Z this Jan and this just start happening:

When accelerate hard from stop, the parking brake light (the red light with the (!) ) came on and sometimes flashing, same thing happens with hard braking. It'll go away once the car slows down or stop from braking.

Anyone knows why?? car runs perfectly fine.

Check your fluid level, this sometimes happens when under hard braking or accel, the fluid shift causes the sensor to read a low level. Fill it up to the max line if it's not already and see if that fixes it.

Yup, it's the brake fluid. Common occurrence.

Either the brake fluid or you need new Pads. Happened to me and my pads were done. How many miles since pads were changed??

Yeah, that's right, it could be the pads too. Although if he just got the car this year that is unlikely (assuming it's new). But yeah, as your brake pads wear your fluid will drop, causing the same thing.

Brake fluid doesn't simply vanish.

If it's low, it's because the pads are worn. So don't just top it up! :P

The car I had before the Z did the same thing at one point(about 180,000 miles) its because of low brake fluid. I filled it, and everything went back to normal. While your at it, check your pads for wear also.

Not true!!!!

I don't know of many things that simply vanish without explanation. Just because the brake fluid is low doesn't mean the pads are worn. I've had to top mine off before and I had *plenty* of pad left. Then again, prior to that I cooked my brakes so some fluid probably boiled off, who knows. Maybe the brake fluid fairies came and stole it.

Darn brake fluid faries !

Just make sure you also check the pads wear. Not just top the fluid and go.
