Paint JWT Pop Charger Heat Shield?
Was thinking... you think it'd be ok to paint the heat shield of the JWT Pop Charger a different color, say, the '06 Magnetic Black, to match the rest of my car? I rather like the chrome trim and the light blue tint (when oiled) of the air filter, but the gold just sticks out like a soar thumb. We own a body shop, and thus, can paint/clearcoat it using paint codes from my '06 MB... so it would match. Wat do you guys think? Would it mess up any of the heat absorbtion/reflection the heat shield was designed to perform? Anyone here have done it? Any input would be appreciated :-).
edit: davidv, I did search and came up with no results so don't flame me or i'll have to... just ignore you.

I think I used that same spray paint too but i just painted the battery and brake fluid covers red and mine withstands to around 900 degrees. I think it should not be a problem because it's a plastic paint so it should be a nice experiment.

Duplicolor stuff works good...but i'd use actual paint and clearcoat it 5 times as said before. My buddy paints plastic pieces inside his engine bay on his GLI and it looks awsome when the paint is matched.

If I did, I would paint it flat black because the gold tone looks cheesy.
Or if you were really bored find some of that imitation carbon fiber wallpaper sticky stuff and make it look like carbon fiber
