GTech Times for 350Z Automatic w/Mustang GT Comparison
GTech Times for 350Z Automatic Touring
Conditions / Settings
Temperature: 27 deg
Input Weight: 3,400 Lbs.
Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S OEM Size
== 0-60 Times ==
Traction Control On: 5.82
Traction Control Off: 5.62
(best of 5 runs)
I'm impressed with these numbers for an Auto. I didn't have enough time to do more runs and improve my launch. I will test again when it's a bit warmer and see if I can replicate and/or improve these times. I will also be taking my Z to the track this spring and I'll let you know the "official" times.
NOTES: With Traction Control Off, if you just mash the gas your tires will spin and you will get a lousy time. You need to quickly feather the gas until your tires grip and then floor it. This is tricky, but required for best times. When it's warmer, this may not be as difficult. Obviously, brake torquing is not required. With a pair of slicks, I'm certain the Auto could see at least 5.5.
Comparison - My Old 2000 Mustang GT Auto

Bagh... G-Techs just give you a better guess at what you can get.. I personally don't think they are even close to acurate. Goto a Track... and use the 0-60 calculator with your timeslip info.
Otherwise the good ol G-tech got me a 0-60 best of 6.2
1/4: 13.5 @ 113mph
HP: 318
They seem to work well to show you how much a new mod helped out..but not for real world times.

Auto Mode. Looking forward to a track time to compare. Will Let you know. One thing is certain - my stock Z is faster than my fairly heavily modded 2000 Mustang GT V8.
S8ER95Z,
What weight did you input into your GTech? Was you GTech showing 0g right before your run? This is very important.

not bad, but yeah Gtech is a bit optomistic, but you can certainly compare times between them, as you have. higher temps will certainly help the Z, eventually the heat will be counter productive, but you arent really in the operating temps of the tires, so all the hp in the world wont help if you cant connect it to the ground.

Important GTech Rules for Accurate Results:
1. Input your correct car weight, including passengers.
2. Make sure your GTech is pointing straight ahead.
3. Most Important: Make sure your Gtech reads 0g before you launch. If it doesn't, carefully adjust it's incline until it does read 0. This ensures that the GTech is perfectly level. This is critical.

LOL
I input my 140 lbs on top of the curb weight (3460)... The G-tech was off when I ran it at the track as well. Not but a ton, however 2 or 3 tenths is still off pretty bad. The G-tech just doesn't cut it for sticking your numbers up to say a Diablo VT 0-60 times and comparing.. its not accurate enough. It may give you a decent guess.. but I think you are selling yourself short with what it gave you. I would suspect your 0-60 to be quicker than that. Thankfully I never paid for the G-tech..or I would be kinda pissed I think.

I'm sure the Gtech results are off somewhat. Looking forward to testing at the track when it opens again next month.
