Tachometer jumping, probably due to Nismo flywheel...
I am going to have the dealer check it out tomorrow, but I have been noticing that the tach pulsates at idle, and thoughout the rpms. I suspect the Nismo flywheel has worn unevenly, and is not balanced, causing the tach needle to fluctuate a bit.
I have a feeling the flywheel will be out of warranty now, so I will probably just have to deal with it until the clutch wears out. It still drives smoothly, but you can see the movement with the tach as it idles and as you accelerate.
Anyone else have this experience?!

Seriously, how can I verify if an aftermarket flywheel has been installed? This 350z also has 19" wheels on it, so the butt dyno will be thrown off a little.
Could I have the service department verify? Is there anywhere to look without taking apart anything if I were able to get it up on a lift?

I had one aluminum flywheel break on me, and that will cause a balance problem if a chunk comes off -but this is highly unikely on a late model Z.
The dealership said it was caused by the Nismo flywheel. They can wear out of balance, especially since they are thinner, compared to the thicker factory unit.
If you have a lightweight flywheel, especially a Nismo, you'll know it from the sound it makes, and how much quicker the car moves up through the rpms, compared to a car which has the stock flywheel. It sounds like a cement mixer while it idles in neutral. Stock, it was quiet.

#2 - It is better ballanced then the factory unit since it is a solid piece not a two piece floating damper type...
I had flywheels as light as 8lbs in my Z and it never did that...
what is your idle set at? if it is below 800 it will do that... (move a little)
Does it jump like 500 RPM? how much does it move around?

it sounds like your idle is set too low...
If you have a 04.5 or up... you may need to put together an idle stabilizer kit...
If you have installed an intake, make sure the crank case blow by hose on the intake tube is not kinked...
Light weight flywheels make the motor more sensitive to alot of things... including idle...
