There is no difference in acceleration. They basically weigh the same, have basically the same amount of power (hp & tq trade off between non-revups and revups), and everything else is the same (for the most part). Please let this thread die. And quit quoting stupid magazine/internet times. If they're that close, it basically means it's a drivers' race.

TARGET350Z - My first time ever at a track was this past summer. I had no experience whatsoever, but I think I caught on pretty quickly. I think my best was a low 14, if not 14 flat. Where in TX do you live?

03-06 will end up being a drivers race....ive been up against plenty of pre-05's Z's and ive owened them all...but then of course they may be sucky drivers...either way i insist the 06's have a slight/tiny edge.

Is that a challenge? How far is McAllen from Dallas? I will prove you otherwise.

*note - I already mentioned that it was a driver's race. So, should this race happen, it's not because one's an 06 and the other an 03, but rather the outcome is dependent on the driver.

BTW, I'm tired of you noobs comparing same (or similar) cars, looking at hp, tq, and weight, saying one's faster than the other.

edit - I will even let you get the jump, if from roll. However, I prefer drag strips as that shows your true abilities and your car's as well.

I would EnjoY racing you. But McAllen is close to 8 hours from dallas. And before you assume i'm a noob you should meet the person. I am by no means a noob...just because i never post and don't have 2,XXX post doesn't mean anything. I'm shure it would be a good race...that time you have posted is impressive. Once i get a chance to head to the track ill post up slips to compare with yours...although the Valley is extremely humid...sucks though.

So you think torque isn't important? I disagree. Torque is hugely important, especially off the line.

I apologize for my above post. I admit I was being a bit cocky. I was just annoyed because of the other posts made by others.. well, and one of your posts saying 06 has a slight advantage.

Since we're at least 8 hrs apart, we can't do anything. However, I would love for you to go to a drag strip and time your car. Be aware that we won't get the awesome times that the people in the eastern states are getting due to our conditions. Good luck and I'll be looking forward to your time slips.

I also owned a 03 and now I have a 06. I did notice that my 06 was lacking low-end torque compared to my 03 so it felt like I needed to rev the engine higher for spirited around town driving, but it did feel much stronger on the top end - you could actually feel speed building as I hit ~5.5k RPM and up where the 03 felt flat at that RPM.

I'd estimate that in a race, it would come down to a drivers race. I recently added the MREV2 and spacer, so I feel like I have the best of both worlds now. The TQ from the 03 and the higher-end pull of the 06.

Lastly, to those commenting about the "bug-eye" headlights, I don't mind the look at all, but what is important to me is that they are FAR superior to the 03 in regards to brightness and illumination distance. I'll take them over the 03 anyday due to that.

Friendly competition among 350Z drivers is good. What I find most interesting about experienced racers is that do not post times here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233840.:)

A few articles discussed the whole weight increase issue over the '03s and the increased horsepower, indicating that it wasn't faster, but also that it wasn't any slower. i have no idea which one is really fastest, but it would actually be a pretty sick race to see an '03 track vs. '06 track. regardless of the victor, i'll take improvements of the '06 anyday. just my 2 cents
I agree that the 2006 has a horsepower advantage. BTW did you get a chance to post your time slip here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html.

Thats a pretty impressive set-up. Most likely you will want to post your times here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233840.

davidv, you crack me up man! hahaha

BTW, people.. seriously.. stfu. The Zs are all about the same. Your Z is nothing special. Stop saying one's faster than the other, who has more of what, etc. It's a ****in driver's race. And don't repeat what you just read about it being a driver's race.

If you really think yours is faster because for whatever reason (you beating GTOs and Porsches, being an 03, being an 06, having MREV2, Canadian version, etc), you need to prove it. Until then, please keep your noob comments to yourself. BTW, this forum's full of ppl that have the same ****, if not more, as you.

From official Specs http://autos.msn.com/research/compar...5454&v=t102251

In conclusion, nothing huge, +1 on Driver's race between the 2
