Default About to buy a new 06 Grand Touring 350Z, thoughts?

I went by the dealer today to check out the Z for the 3'rd time, and I also wanted to see what was available (since finding a new grand touring is seemingly pretty hard). The Z I want is a GT coupe, with silverstone or LeMans Sunset paint, burnt orange seats, manual transmission, and a navigation system. So basically something like this is seeming like it will run me $40k after registration, and tax.

The only thing's that I am currently wondering about is just if the grand touring is really worth getting, and how black seats are on the Z coupe (mainly just how hot they can get when with a color such as LS or SS). I am asking about the grand touring since by wanting this trim level, I am really limiting my choices at the same time. I mainly just want it for the brembo brakes, and widetrack wheels. As for the seats, although I prefer burnt orange, I am thinking about possibly getting a LeMans sunset with black seats. Reason for this is because an 06 happens to be available with everything I want, but it just has black seats instead of the orange. I think black seats look nice, but I just worry about how hot they can get.

Can't really speak for black seats with LS or SS paint, but I have an 06 Black with black leather and I can say the never really gotten too hot to the touch. Although they do make my back a little hot as I drive sometimes.

By the way...I have the Touring model. I think the only differences are the Brembos and the wider Rays wheels on the GT. While the GTs wheels are sweet, they weren't worth the extra $$ to me to upgrade to the GT. I think you'll have an easier time finding a Touring model on dealers lots simply because it's a more popular trim.

Hey jj, I just bought my 06 MB grand touring about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I dont really know about pricing for california, but I paid a lot less than 40k for my G/T. I thought it was definitely worth it to get it over an enthusiast, especially since I wanted leather and the staggered rim setup. Any questions just let me know. See ya.

I have an '05 GT roadster (w/navi) and just love the car. Just get it. The Brembos are sweet. The car is silverstone with ventilated seats, burnt orange trim. They match the brembos perfectly! I have the touring wheels on now, but will upgrade down the road.

The reason why it it nearly $40k, is because of the navigation system and side airbags, which add $2,400 to the price tag. They are worth it to me though.

Everytime I see a Z with brembos and the rays...I get so jealous and wish I got them. Only $2700CDN here in Canada with the spoilers, so its definitely a good deal, its just a matter of taste with the style of rims. Because youd be looking at $2500CDN+ for a set of similar type rims and rubber.

Just keep in mind...when you get your brakes done..its gonna cost a bit more than normal if u have the brembos!

Keep in mind that you can get aftermarket leather, navigation, and brakes. So it might actually be cheaper to get an Enthusiast and tack on all of the other stuff later.

I have the extra airbags on my Track and it's nice to know they're there.

Enthusiast = Best Value, Best Choice

Touring = If You Need Leather/Heated/Power Seats & Bose

Grand Touring = If You Track Your Car A Lot [A Good Excuse For Brembo Brakes] & Have $ To Waste, I Mean To Burn

Feel free to flame me for this one but if your going to spend 40K just spend a little more and get a C6 Vette.

The track version will get you everything you want and save a little money. You don't get the leather, but the regular seats are black like you want along with being lighter and quite comfortable. NAV is a deal breaker for some people, but I have it in another car and never use it.

I got my GT a couple of weeks ago. Including tax, tags and all of that stuff mine was under 40k... 06 GT, 6spd, w/nav, carpets, back seat organizer thing, Aluminum sills, bla bla bla... It did take around 3 months for it to come in though. I guess I am biased, I would get the GT option.
