the '07 Z will have the same hp as the new '07 g35 sedan which is around 306. But w/the new SAE ratings, i think, the actual hp will be around 315 with the old rating system.

They are going to redesign the hood so the new vq can fit.

You know this for a fact? Looking at the numbers for the G35 and Z from 2003-2006, hp has always read a few numbers lower (280 vs 287, 298 vs 300). Although these differences are almost negligible, it does dispell any notions that the Z and G have absolutely the same horsepower. I'd estimate the Z will be rated a few numbers higher, but then again, what the hell do I know?

if i remember correctly, the nissan press release stated the 07 Z will carry the new engine, just like the 07 G35 sedan...but it did not release official HP #s...it simply stated "further details will be released later in the year"

i'm gonna estimate 5-10hp increase over the g35 sedan #s...

Ok, so if the track model is discontinued then are the GT's the only ones that are going to get the brembo's. Im gonna be mad if they move them down to the enthusiast since I just bought mine.

You tended to be 50-75% wrong in the past on the Z's coming out. We shall wait and see. Why would they discontinue the Track model, I doubt it!

Last I read on the new engine (lost the thread for reference, though...) said there was the possibility of a limited production Track model with higher tune than normal. Maybe not introduced until mid-model year, so not showing up for avilable order yet. Dunno if it's really true, but that could explain why you aren't seeing it now.

I seriously doubt they will discontinue Track; it's been a popular trim. Oh well, who knows.
