I'll wait for a magazine to road test it. If I end up getting an 07 and the new hood loses it's appeal... there's always aftermarket products. I want to see this car in black, from the side.

Hi. I'm pretty new here and am one of the guys thats thinking about getting a 06 or 07. I went to the OC Autoshow today and saw the 07 model, but all the doors were locked and the lady wouldnt let me know anything about the car. I asked her when the car would be put into market and she told me 3 to 5 months. Is this true?

That's because it's a fake! that's right, a FAKE! why else wouldn't you be allowed to take a glance inside? Why hasn't there been any more coverage of it when there was plenty of coverage on the new hybrid Altima at the same show! Someone just fabricated a hood and called it an 07! CONSPIRACY!!!!

 

Someone needs to take a camera with a flash and get a picture of the exhaust from as far underneath as they can get. Then we'll see if it really is a fake.

 

If that is a fake it's a good fake. If that really is gonna be the new hood it looks like crap.

the lady there said she did not know anything about it because it is still in pre-production (that's what i meant by she didnt let me know anything). she asked if i wanted a brochure mailed to me about the 07.

you can take a glance through the window, but from what i saw its pretty much identical to the 06. however, the strut bar in the back looks a little pushed back towards the bottom of the rear window.

Thanks for the pics, those 2 angles give me a better idea of how much of a bump this hood got. I think it looks dope. The side profile especially. Once I slap some nismo skirts and a front lip on it, it'll be workin for me.

 

Interesting how most of you really dislike the idea of a V8 Z. I wonder if the BMW M series folks feel the same way regarding the upcoming V8 M3?

id prefer a straight 6 to be honest, just like the original Z, at least its still a 6cyl.

the m3 has had many different engines. For example the e30 had an I4

 

hood looks really sick from the side!

 

A lot of m3 folks do dislike the idea of a V8 in the m3. It takes away from the light weight, crisp handling, quick car the original e30 4 cylinder m was. Every generation it gets heavier and larger. IMO they should have put the 335 twin turbo engine in the next m3....with more boost and hp of course.

does anyone have an idea about the weight of the new Z? If it is at least not as heavy I will be happy withthe little gain on HP. But the hood is still pretty ugly.
