2007 350z speculations?

Seems a bit high for bench racing though. Inside Line did a full test over a month ago, "Our tester tore up the track with a scorching 0-60-mph run of 5.6 seconds and a quarter-mile performance of 13.9 seconds at 102 mph."
Car and driver: "We took our test car to the track, where it hunkered down and dashed to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, covering the quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds at 103." (they do mention testing vehicle with only 250 miles on odometer, but I can't imagine break-in would shave more than a tenth or two off that time.)
Also interesting to find that Car and Driver has the BMW 335i sedan (3600lbs) completing the sprint to 60 in 4.8s and the quarter in 13.5 at 106! But that motor is probably producing more like 333hp at the crank.

You people are underestimating the power of this new VQ. Nissan is not playing games, this new motor is sick. Twin intakes, Twin Throttle Bodies, Dual exhaust, stock Iridium plugs...10 % increase in gas mileage, and it even earned S-ULEV emissions. Come on now...
1. Z sheds some pounds and loses SIGNIFICANT amount of weight.... not just 10-20 lbs.
2. Nissan changes gear ratios on Z to make it more aggressive(?) down low.
3. Nissan has in its plans to go FI, V8, or significantly higher displacement for the upcoming new 2008/2009 Z engine. To squeeze some more power out of the current VQ at 3.5L to make the 1/4 mile time closer to 13.0 sec than your est. 13.4 sec would be EXTREMELY difficult; Nissan would be shooting themselves in the foot.
4. stock 300HP-ish EVO/STIs with AWD barely get low 13 sec 1/4 mile time. Unless we get a crap load of more power and some way to put that power down firm, I dont think 07 Zs will get out of high 13 sec.... 13.6-13.7 probably.
Eh. But who knows.... I'm just an average Z driver. =)

And after looking again, the projector housing may not be more chrome, they are startign to look the same as before. Must be bad camera phone pictures. But the Orange is just nuts! One more thing, the engine cover is the same as the Infinity's. It just says nissan instead.

Stock Z's NOW are hitting 13.6-13.7 (good driver)... I wouldn't doubt a mid to low 13 at all.
