Because they still have 06's to sell and if they release the numbers NOBODY will buy an 06. I'm sure there are some people who would buy a Z based on looks alone... *cough*women*cough*. But for the majority of people interested in buying sports cars in general... performance is the ultimate factor. It's a no brainer. That's why we've all been waiting for months to buy this 07, isn't it?
Maybe the Dodge Viper management should try that. I heard they have so many of them unsold they even seized production.

I always wanted a Viper... until I got divorced. LOL. Now all I can afford is a 30k-ish car, but I'm not complaining. I think Vipers are grossly overpriced, Dodge deserves what they are getting if the above statement is accurate. When I was in the market (4 years ago) I went down to a local dealership and test drove one. A 75k car becomes a 100k car after dealer markup and fees. Screw that. I'm getting the 07 Z, after I'm done paying it off in 5 years I'll either TT it or pick up a 67 Camaro. No Viper for me. EVAR!!
The hit they have taken has more to do with gas prices than anything else. They are one of those cars that have an obscene amount of fuel consumption. Its along the lines of the Ferrari Maranello and the Hummer. Its too bad because I really like the car. But a 8 plus liter engine and on top of that a 10 cylinder...
Plus the Viper is now fighting the Z06, which is arguably a better buy.
no to be gay... but how are you positive on what the offsets are.
p.s. then antenna screw size, and WAX!!! how do you think you know all this? tell me your secrets.
Silly Pony.
Looking at the announced changes and basing everything off of what the 06 has, as well as the pictures from the O.C. autoshow... wheels, paint protection and antenna are pretty safe bets in my mind. Holding off on the nismo skirts for now... but I am budgeting accordingly. I'm planning to mod my exterior and sound system... and by the time I'm done, engine stuff should be coming out. At least, that's the plan.

Anybody go into a dealer and put down a deposit yet? I had a guy today email me and say if I put down 2k he'd guarantee the car be held for me the day it arrives and says he'll do 2% over invoice. Anybody else in this position?

Well, the 2006 Enthusiast Coupe had a dealer invoice of 27,144. I had two other dealers willing to go 2.5% over invoice on the 2007. But this guy is trying to secure the deal by getting me to put 2k down and saying that he'll do 2% over. Basically saving me about 130 bucks. I figure the 2007 will get a slight bump in price but I'm going to aim for 28,000 +tax and license. I'm sure the "come in and put your deposit down" is just some mind game they pull on people to make them think that they are locked into the sale. I guess what my question should be is, are any of you guys getting % over invoice quotes lower than 2%?
