Thanks for your info. I had thought that even R orders had September delivery dates on them. Did anyone who has an R number get an Aug '02 delivery date from their dealer?

That's the first Day One order reported that has a T number. These are the type of things that maybe NNA wouldn't really see, unless we point it out to them, and I think they would like to know about them.

ZISME: If you are following this thread, please get in contact with Shogun, and see if there is something you can do for him, or have his dealer do for him (if the dealer errored).

Unhappily, my order was faxed that night ahead of two customers that were in earlier. The dealer has been very helpful in answering questions as well as being agreeable to requests such as stickers and front license plate frame.

My dealer is Tynan's Nissan in Aurora Co.. They are a family owned dealership and stressed to me their pride in never having priced a vehicle over msrp. They also have a Volkswagon franchise and had the same posture in the marketplace regarding the Bug when it was re-introduced.

I know that they are waiting on at least 11 Z's and all have T#'s except one Touring 6MT which has an R#.

 

My dealer has been telling me for the past 4 weeks I am scheduled for Delivery end of August......I call him weekly........I say September, he says no, end of August........I will still be happy with Sept. delivery!!!!!

 

That is very good additional information. It sounds like your dealer is very trustworthy, and there wasn't a delay in entering your order, like some other forum members have advised. Your info makes me wonder if maybe the limited amount of R numbers is more related to a regional level, then a dealer level. We can't be sure, as no one is really telling us.

So even though your line on my spreadsheet has an "Not so Good" dealer rating (which hardly seems applicable in your case), I still think it is good to keep tabs on this info. Or maybe I will change the column heading to something else.

You alluded to the "R", "S", "T", etc. numbers being more of a regional importance ... could they be any indication of potential P.O.E.'s? In other words, do they have any relationship re: area of the country or proximity to known shipping centers? Just a thought.

Just got off the phone with my dealer O'Neil Nissan ( http://www.oneilautos.com/nissan/default.asp?ID=3 ) and have to say I wish you all could have dealers this good. This is an abridged version of the conversation (names have been changed to protect the extremely helpful):

Switchboard: I'm sorry, he's not in today, and he will be out for a while.
tbcz: A while? What does that mean? Like...days?
Switchboard: Unfortunately his son is very ill and we're not sure how long he'll be out.
tbcz: (now not only do I figure I'm not finding out squat...but I feel like a jackass!) Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. Well, the reason I'm calling is that I am one of the 350Z preorders and I have a question.
Dealer: One moment, let me connect you with Jay Irvine. He should be able to help you.
tbcz: (thinking...oh, this is going to work. Not.)

OK...last line is made up...but the rest is exactly how it went. Pretty sweet huh?

I didn't get same result.

My dealer does not have an order number for my car. They know the number I am referring to, because they have this number (and a delivery) for (10) of their (21) pre-orders.

I guess it could be worse - They could have order numbers for all but mine, which would not make me feel very special.

Jeff, you're doing a bang-up job. Do you still need any help?

I can add the tracking numbers and dealer comments to the 350Z Survey site if you want. There's a slight complication, though, that makes it difficult for me to just throw another box or two on the existing Survey page. I lost the source code for that part of the site, so I have to rewrite the login, signup, and Survey pages if I ever want to modify them. Major bummer.

But, I could create a new page and add some other fields like tracking number and dealer comments. If most everyone's nicknames in your spreadsheet match their Survey user names, then I can just dump your spreadsheet into my database. I imagine some names won't match and for those I'll have to contact the individuals to reconcile your entire list.

Thoughts?

This is vey close to LaMans350z's posted info. The Tennessee cars will come through Jacksonville. Have not been given a vin # yet. Hope this helps in everybodys qwest for more info/data.

 

Providing additional information to my original reply.

Ordered Chrome Silver with Frost Leather Touring AT. Have yet to receive confirmation number but expect to be in high Ts based on late order date (7 Jun 02). Appears Z will be either a early B-Day gift or early Christmas gift depending on my anticipated delivery date (Nov/Dec).

As of last Friday only 4 of 8 pre-orders from my dealership had received actual confirmation number. Expecting mine (Code name High T) within next couple of weeks as Nissan sents remainder of confirmation numbers in late July timeframe.
