350Z to be a classic?
I was at the local Nissan dealer the other day and the salesman was telling me that they will stop making this model in about a year. I know that Nissan has a trend of discontinuing production, but is this true? If so, will this bring more value to the car?
First off -- think back -- where were you and who were you talking to? Right a car sales person at a car dealership. He is going to tell you all sorts of misinformation for a number of reasons -- the greatest of which is to get you into a car ASAP.
To directly answer your question, Nissan has no known recent history of bringing cars to the States for short runs, the 350Z is a popular car which is sold in very large numbers and surely provides a profit for Nissan. No, they are not going to stop bringing the car here and even if they did there are so many cars out there it will never be a collectible car.
Classic is a different definition. I think the 240Z's are classic, but they are really not collectible...
