Some people just don't get the adrenaline rush from speeding like others. Today I let a girl I work with drive my car and, she wouldn't go over 75. I was hesistant to letting her drive but when I found out she had a 86 corrola that was a five speed I was like let's go. She didn't stall or miss a gear. Prety ****ing sexy.

Also I just got a speeding ticket and got my car impounded last sunday night and got it back monday(suprisingly the impound fee wasn't high). I was doing 99 in a 55. The car got impounded cause My license was suspended for too many traffic violations. I normally don't speed on purpose, unless I'm racing someone. So I never really go out and try to go the highest speed. Waiting to go to a track.

I got into the upper 140's on I75 north of Cincinnati. She was still pulling but I got very paranoid about getting a speeding ticket at 140+

The bike has a few normal mods and a 520 kit but the sprockets are the stock size. The speedo may be off, up to 120 it reads the same as my friend's R6 and my G (those I have tested). Above that who knows.

Also if you check the 600RR.net (the largest 600RR forum) there are tons of other guys who have seen 17X on their speedo.

If you notice the people that posted 17X mph, they noted that it was what is indicated on the speedo, not a verified speed. Jap bikes are known to have generous speedos, some up to 10% to high, even from the factory, so at that speed it could be up to 17mph too high, if you use a GPS for a speedo, thats a different story. As far as using other vehicles to pace your speed, its definately not very accurate especially at 120mph to be concentrating on driving, making sure you not gaining or losing any ground, and looking at your speedo, you could easily be +or- 8mph, believe me I tried to do it after I switched out my sprockets and was recalibrating the speedo.

I'm not trying to bust your ***** but there is a big difference between indicated and actual speed.

I've only hit 140mph in my Z but I've gone 185mph on my '05 Ninja ZX10R. It tops at 189mph before the rev limiter hits.

Hit 140 couple of weekends ago racing a modded gen 2 RX-7 on I-94 in Michigan near the Indiana border. Car felt great, I was terrified because Michigan troopers are great at hiding.

I hit 150 for the first time a few weeks ago on the turnpike here, i must admit it was one hell of a rush, and my heart was almost pounding out of my chest.

I agree. I don't know very many people on this thread that is using GPS speed. My G has a GPS nav system and it is accurate up to 125; that is the higest I have checked and my GF was watching while I was driving.

As for my bike, my speedo is the only thing I had at the time. All we are doing on this thread is posting the speed we have seen so that is what I did.

195kms overtaking generally this is by GPS radar - I know my speedo is 3kms fast by 3 different GPS radars. Hehe, but the track is the best place for speed for everyone's safety.

Nice first post! I was shook after hitting 159mph too! I think that's why we like to go so fast every once in awhile -- for the pure adrenaline rush!
